10 hard bosses that made us shout a victory cry
video description
The W take would have been putting DANTE on the number one spot. Because Vergil as much as my boy is strong and I love playing him, Dante is the true menace of the game, and the game breaker for most players. Most players can't stand fighting him because he's UNFAIRLY tough, even while playing Vergil who's abilities break the game. Focus / Concentration gauge even maxed doesn't make Dante weaker, and it's insane. He's got unbreakable guards and parries, too many moves to master that no player has.
This guy is just a nightmare. Vergil at most deserves 10, but I wouldn't even put him on this list unless you're just bad.

I played the Metroid Prime Trilogy on my hacked wii some years ago and for some reason when the save file for each game was created it would default to Veteran difficulty, and i didn't notice this until like halfway through the first game and said oh well, i already made some progress why redet now? So i kept going with it and. the Omega Pirage came in
Spent a solid 4 hours on that bossfight. im never playing Prime 1 ever cuz i got PTSD
I also played God of War and did fought Sigrun, i was a little bit limited with how much i could play the game cuz it was in my uncle's console, but id say it took me about 10 hours in two days separate, somehow didn't felt that punishing, i just learned the fight very slowly and mix and matching runes and stuff
Still think the Pirate was a living nightmare for me

Omg the Black Cerberus boss in the first Surge was insane. Not only is he a faster, stronger version of you but he has a few PAX(the first boss of the game) that come out when he recharges. The game doesn t tell that you have to blow up the fuel tanks by tricking the first PAX to shoot at the tanks to keep from fighting the other PAX.
Also The Surge doesn t tell you that you have to seek out exo rigs to upgrade your implant slots. And I went into that battle with 3 health injections. I had to backtrack to get the upgrades to make it somewhat easier. And for those who haven t played The Surge, once you beat Black Cerberus he becomes a normal enemy later in the game. I love the game along with the sequel but man that boss was a rough one.

Out all soulsborne games in the fromsoft catalog, i admit not only Isshin is the top boss of all bosses, Sekiro overall is most definitely the highest difficulty the games got. there was no overlevelling, hunking down with armor and long range obliterating with spells. watchin my ppls plat other souls games and not finish Sekiro was pretty funny.
2 years ago i stopped playing 1 trophy from Platinum, all i gotta dk is beat Isshin on NG3 and i would needa relearn the whole game n then some.
P. s, for me, ds3 and elden were super easy. Orphan KOS was the other boss i had a lot of trouble with, from Bornes DLC.

As a list topic, how about games where at some point, you got gud and you're not sure when or how? Not an exaggeration to say I was not initially good at Hades; it took me eighty attempts to beat Hades. But at some point I realized I had the dodge timing kind of down? And I could figure out which door was best, knew what boons I preferred, which weapons and aspects and Daedalus hammers fit my style best(Excalibur+cursed slash+hoarding slash, you'll thank me later? Gotta say, when I realized that I was killing the prophecies and got to escape number ten I might've cheered just a little.

Fatalis from Monster Hunter World: Iceborne expansion is my personal favourite jumping out of the chair moment. He was added as the final monster in an update, and he is no joke. Straight up rinses players in flames over and over and over again. Me and my brother had to plan the hunt, use the environment, make dedicated sets that balance offense & defense, and still we would keep on struggling, so when it went down, the quets completion music blared, we jumped out of our seats and shouted. It is so rewarding to see the thing go down.

Trilla from Jedi: Fallen Order. My first playthrough of the game took me about 13 hours, and nearly 3 of it was on this one freaking fight. I was playing on hard because I like a challenge, but so many of her attacks just felt borderline unfair. Like 4 of her combos look almost the same until. 25 seconds before you need to counter it. One of them you need to parry, one you need to dodge back, a third you need to parry twice then dodge the unlockable. It was hell on earth for me.

Definitely a good example of a hard boss is the Pure Vessel from Hollow Knight, more specifically, the Pantheon of the Knight. If you don t know what it is, it s the boss rush that is filled with incredibly hard bosses in the game. The boss by itself is incredibly tricky to learn how to beat. Just beating it in practice mode felt really good. I heard that Absolute Radiance in the Pantheon of Hollownest was harder but I felt done with the game after I had my last victory.

Last time I felt great in defeating a boss was in Doom Eternal's final bosses in the main campaign and the Ancient Gods campaign. The feeling I got after finally defeating the 3 of them, Icon of Sin, Samur, and the Dark Lord on Ultra Nightmare difficulty felt great. My best gaming achievement. Samur by far the hardest in Doom Eternal, especially on Console. The other 2 were more, I know I can defeat them, I just have to not get impatient and play it for the long run.

Gameranx team I love your videos, especially your top tens! Just want to make one tiny suggestion. You know that meme of someone s monitor blasting their face with a flash bang in CSGO? That s what your title cards are doing to me. At each countdown while laying in bed, my wife wakes up and gives me an earful. If you were to get darker title cards, I m sure many of us dudes watching your vids in bed will thank you for it! Keep up the great stuff!

I dunno how it is in the original, but I played Kingdom Hearts remake.
And Sephiroth! Maaaaaaaaannnnn!
Sure he's an optional boss, but gooooodDAMN!
Actually, all the optional bosses were super hard at the end.
They were so tough that I did grind myself up to level 100.
Which made the actual last boss a piece of cake.
When I beat him I was like,
. was this it?

Gameranx rankings suck:
Here's a better top 5 view
1. Isshin Sword Saint - Sekiro
2. Absolute Radiance - Hollow Knight
3. Sigrun - God of war
4. Orphan of Kos - Bloodborne
5. Devil - Cuphead
Calling Vergil the hardest boss is a joke - you can beat him easily onlower difficulty.
Beating the likes of Sigrun on easiest difficulty is still a massive achievement.

Beating Hell House on the hardest difficulty of FF7 Remake was such a challenge, I breezed through every boss after, thinking they couldn't possibly match Hell House.
That said, Sephiroth was amazing. Just struggling to push forward in the fight, until I could have my team back, and then surviving his field nuke attack by the skin of my teeth and beating him, was so satisfying.

For me Divinity: OS 2 s final boss encounter messed me up proper. From the moment it starts the enemies have the upper hand. Then the second phase starts and unless your team have high enough initiative stats, you re in true dark waters. Holy crap. Had to really find ways to weasel my way through it lol.
I definitely roared at my tv once I got past it.

Gonna have to go with the Valkyrie Queen, brilliant design, training you for all of her attacks by having you battle each valkyrie. Difficulty was only just bordering on frustration, but still gave you the feeling that you could beat her. Came so close so many times. A boss that really made you learn the skills. Definitely let out a cry when I beat her!
