There is that new Jurassic Park game coming out that's kinda in the vain of Dying Light or Dead Island. So not QUITE Survivor, but at least something. As for Rule of Rose, I still have my copy of the game from when it first came out, yes, it was a mess to play, but it had some fun mechanics (what with the dog companion at all) the only painful part was, there was a certain thing that you had to do a certain way and in a certain order and was completely missable on an entire playthrough if you missed even one element. and that was finding all the perfumes or such with the dog in order to unlock the magnum revolver or whatever it was. It was some crazy stuff. Because it involved a LOT of backtracking at the right times that you had to make sure you didn't accidentally advance to where you wouldn't be able to backtrack or such.

Would be fun to see them remake some of the western Silent Hill games. Many of them had potential, but dropped the ball in one way or another. Homecoming just needed less tedious combat and some rewrites to its plothole filled story. Origins needed some gameplay tweaks, like NOT letting the player control otherworld shifts since that just ruins the mystique of traversing a run down place and then ending up in a nightmarish version that's even more run down. And Downpour had some fun ideas like exploring the town and doing little side quests, but could have used with some touch ups to the narrative side of things and its combat so enemies didn't feel spongy and annoying (as well as needing much better designs.

The problem with getting remakes of bad games is that the industry is so totally profit driven that the prospect of remaking a game that didn't make a ton of money is repellant to the publishers that have access to those IPs. And, they don't ask why one game in a franchise sold well while another that is essentially the same game didn't. They just assume that higher sales equals better game and want to replicate those sales numbers, and what better way to reproduce a game's financial performance than to slap a new coat of paint on it and sell it like it's brand new again But, a bad game needs work, and publishers aren't interested in analyzing why the game was bad or paying to fix it.

I bother Sega occasionally about remaking Blood Will Tell.
It was an absolutely bonkers PS2 era samurai game based on a manga. You go around killing demons to get back your body parts that were stolen from you as an infant. You wield swords but can also throw off your hands to reveal blades. There’s a machine gun in your arm and a cannon in your knee. The body parts you recover boost your stats but can also have real changes to the game. For instance, it starts off black and white, but becomes color when you get your eyes back.
It was such a fun game, but I’m guessing nobody bought it because the premise was too weird for most people or it was just badly marketed.

Motive who did the Dead Space remake has already said they'd love to remake Dead Space 3 if they're given a chance. They're currently working on the Dead Space 2 remake, so there's hope
As for Dragon Age 2 it really wasn't Bioware's fault as EA forced them to make a sequal in less than 18 months. There is no way they could have made a full game from scratch in that limited time, so they had to reuse maps and write cringy dialogue. The game is actually better than you give it credit for though. Is it up to the standards of the first, No but it also didnt have the development time of the first either.

I always imagine how Dawn of the Dragon should be remade. Only in open world with true free flight, have a magic-induced speed enhancing ability, wall-running on any surface, zooming towards enemies in a freeflow as you make each move, clean and swift uppercuts, grab and throw, disarming, a well organized and filled out set of versatile elemental abilities, combat finishers with their own library of flashy animations, and more polished enemies. Just a dragon power-trip that I could go on for ages about the details.

Soul Reaver, all the Legacy of Kain games really. Blood Omen, SR 1-3, I'll even take Blood Omen II. That's some next level stories and games that need to be playable on modern systems. Although the originals still hold up, outdated graphics and all, the fact that the PC versions use DX input and graphics versions that are no longer supported or even exist in modern Windows systems makes them totally unplayable unless you know how to massage the files and install 3rd party mods.

2: 10 Now as you know Dead Space remake is great
I wouldn't know since it hasn't been cracked yet.
Also I enjoyed Dead space 3 because a few years ago when I played the trilogy I was stuck with an old i3 4030u overheating laptop with just 4gb of ram and it had trouble playing basically anything so I was so happy the Dead Space games were playable on it that I didn't care if the third one wasn't as good as the first.

Rule of Rose wasn’t even that bad to play. All survival horror games of that era had intentionally janky controls to make you feel helpless. The story of the game however is much more memorable and dark than any game I’ve played since. If you think Silent Hill 2 twist is bleak, you haven’t experienced the end of this game.

Outrageously expensive it is on eBay Yup, a lot of cult classics or popular older titles are outrageously expensive on the second hand market. Parasite Eve and Haunting Ground are 2 other survival horror games that have since achieved that cult status with high resale prices. Lots of good games lost to history

your DS3 thoughts are so dumb it hurts my brain why you would want it exactly the same as the first 2, why not just play those then. Oh yeah and in 3 you're the Marker killer, genius, you would think making custom double weapons would be something you like. guess not lets just make every game to same.

I LOVED into the matrix
I seriously haven't played or even seen gameplay since i was like 13 and wow did it age bad
But i remember being in love with the fighting mechanics of the game. I played that game religiously
A remake would be preem tho as long as they leave Jada out of the whole thing

Okay, imagine if they did a remake of the Yakuza zombie game, and added a whole new storyline to it with Ichiban and his crew. There could be a running meta joke about how Ichiban was in prison throughout the whole zombie boom, so his reaction to what's going on is very different from everyone else's.

Force Unleashed 1 needs a remaster, and then Force Unleashed 2 needs to be completley over written with an alternate universe story where Starkiller becomes the Sith Stalker and what would happen to the Rebellion. A Suicide Squad KtJL kind of story, where you know it isn't cannon. but done better.

Finally someone mentioned Rule of Rose! One of the most unnerving slow horror games from my early childhood. It almost feels like a faded memory now. 100% agree with all the gameplay complaints as it was a drag to play through some elements but it is unlike any other horror games imo.

Honestly, I feel we can take a good break from remakes for awhile. It’s evident both Hollywood and video games industry are out of ideas, and we just see an influx of sequels and remasters nowadays. Maybe gaming is past its prime at this point, hope I’m wrong

Was hoping you would mention rule of rose! It’s one of my all time favorite games (for the story and music) and feel like the publishers would make a killing if they remade it since it goes for so much money online. A shame it’s been stuck on ps2

On the topic of DA2, EA gave Bioware 14 to 16 months to develop the game which is horrible by itself and it gets even worse if you consider the fact that there's not even a year in between the release of DA: O - Awakening and the release of DA2.
