Copying and pasting from the GH4 video, but I decided to pick up the 12-35 because it seemed like a great starting combo for video production. I'm a little disappointed that I get a strobe-like aperture flicker effect when I zoom in and out, not to mention the clicking sound it makes. There also appears to be a aperture flicker when I move it. Is there any way to fix that or is this a limitation of the lense and it's only meant to be kept at one focal length/stationary shot? This is annoying because this seems to be one of the most recommended starter lenses for this camera and no one seems to mention this issue except on countless message boards. Thanks ahead of time and no worries if you can't get back to me about it right away.

Hi Griffin, Please Please read this. I found out that people are able to mount canon and fujinon b4 lenses to micro 4/3 camera. Those lens are broadcast standars they are parfocal have f1. 7 constant aperture and 9 - 100 plus zoom range with a smooth zoom and electric zoom lever control as well. The downside it it only works with lenses that has a 2x converter now this makes the lens have a constant aperture of f3. 6 zoom range of ( 36 - 400 35 equivalent. I would love your insight on this.

Hey Griffin, best regards from Europe! Could you make a short video to introduce us to the variety of lense mounts, - types and adaptors, etc? I got some realy old stuff (90s) and I wonder if its still usable with new DSLR bodies. Ofc everything is manual there, but lense is still a lense. Perhaps there is an adaptor I could buy to mach them with a DSLR body? (lenses fit perfectly with an old Sigma camera (also around 90s. Thank you for great videos! We love you! :)

MFT camera will never be wide enough! On the other hand, they are superb with telephoto lenses as they double their focal length! If you want an ultra-wide-angle lens, get a full-frame DSLR. Even an APS-C like I have is not wide enough sometimes as it as a 1. 5x crop. Ultra-wide lenses are those wider than 16mm (8mm on MFT or 10. 5mm on APS-C. I have never seen a lens wider than 8mm (except those shitty CCTV camera lenses.

Hey, I have a Gh3, GX1 (and had a GH2) and a 5DMK II. My recommendation in terms of cheap lenses:
- Tamron 28-75mm F2. 8. 499 new but you can get one for $250 second hand.
- Canon FD 50 1. 8 and 2. 8 + 2X adapter ($40)
- Samyang 14mm T3. 1. But it's not as useful as the Panny 14mm f2. 5 (however if you adapt a speedbooster on them, you get a 10mm f2: ) )

YES! I also had to push mine as close to the camera as it would go, and now it's parfocal again. I also found if you need to change how far the focal ring turns in either direction (like if the flange is correct, but the focus ring isn't reaching infinity, you can stretch the rubber grip off the focus ring, and there are screws hiding underneath that can be repositioned.

i have a question related to Lens mounts for gh2:
should a buy AF NIKKOR 28mm f/2. 8D or Panasonic Lumix G 14mm f/2. 5 ASPH Lens
- my main question is with 43 Nikon Mount, Nikon lens will give same frame size at 28mm(on 35mm sensor) or it will be double to from 28mm to 56mm (on 35mm sensor.
as you may know Panasonic 14mm gives 28m (on 35mm sensor)

Bought two 35-105's. One showed up with trashed bushings and was utterly unuseable. The other seems to ne NOS from the first month of manufacture.
That's the risk of Canon zooms of this era - they made the bushings out of cheese and they utterly disintegrate - especially if someone puts the wrong grease on it.

Hey! I'm doing a huge project for 2013 planning to produce 1 short film every month.
It's pretty much no-budget but i have a lot of friends that are offering to do all kinds of things. acting, sound, light, writing etc.
So, what would be your advice for me to pull this thing of and not break under pressure!

When you get lenses for video shooting on DSLRs, do you need to get the fancy video/Cine lenses, or can you get away with normal lenses? It seems like there's some lenses with huge price increases, but some are still almost the same. I'm confused. Thanks for your videos and answering everybody's questions!

Yes and no, yes with an adapter that will slow down the lens to like an F/4. 5 and very very soft, or you could use it with an adapter without glass but then you will not be able to focus to infinity. Either way the lens will not perform well on the 60D or any real DSLR with a mirror.

Have a few FD lenses from my grandma's old camera and love the 50mm f/1. 8! One of the lenses is the 35-105mm that you are using and I couldn't get it to focus to infinity on my Sony NEX-VG20. I'm glad you mentioned the fix that you used. I will try it out. Thanks Griffin!

For the price (a Canon 5D Mark II is only a little over $1000) you could have the same crop factor with a 50mm. Then you wouldn't need expensive sup 28mm lenses. There is a vast number of sub $100 lenses with great optics, some f2 55mm lenses start at $30.

Yes, new canons use EF lenses the 35-105 is an FD lens (an older style. There's a problem with the flange too, I hope he makes a video on how to properly fix it, he said he did it in the video.

I'm having trouble finding lens adapters to allow a micro 4/3 lens to be used on my 5D. Do they exist? If so what would be the downside to using a micro 4/3 on a full frame sensor?

How did the mounts for your lens work out? I was planning on getting some more lens (at least 2) but i wasn't sure how the mount would exactly work out in terms of aperture and focal length

pany 12-35 has also problems in GH3?
Is GH2 its flickering when you zoom in video.
And are you sure 12-35 is parfocal?
I saw some videos that showing the opposite!

For my Gh2 I will buy 14 mm, 25 mm (1. 4) and I will keep my 14 - 140 mm. I have some lenses form Nikkor, but I like to use autofocus, so I dont use them anymore.
