Making of a Feature Film! - Director Interview Part 1 of 3: FRIDAY 101 SandyGritty: I really enjoyed this interview and can't wait to see the next part. It's interesting that you worried so about looking professional. The presence of lack of a professional look has been a deciding factor on many of our equipment purchases. Our film club is currently getting t-shirts for crew and badges, etc. to look more professional. Many members have worked in the film industry for 20 years or more, yet they still are concerned about it. Your experience might save us from a future blunder.

hey what a good editing system that's no less then 20$(but I would prefer free)though I'm not that experienced in film making, the projects I want require at least okay visual FX I've spent hours trying out viruses in the form of an editing system and after effects and Sony Vegas are not an option due to cost! and windows movie maker is completely useless
i want to make movies but i cant with out the editing system that suits my level. Please help!

I think many of these shows move on to other elements like this and I personally love it. make a movie or short and then come back to this and see if you like it, because even during filming a short of 5 minutes I learned so much. I wanted to shoot 1 night and edit in 2 weeks. I shot 4 nights and edited 6 weeks. (Lots of effects shots. Love this episode.

I'm 19, own a production company, did a time period feature, and I'm about to own a Red Epic. Started with 0$. No rich parents or anything of the sort, or outside assistance. Interested in interviewing me? Just for educational purposes, I'd like my story to be told about how I went from nothing to completely immersed in the film industry in Cyprus (Where I live)

Love this! Can't wait to see part 2! It's also interesting about Beta Cam, I hope he talks about why it was a mistake, workflow maybe. Back then a Sony Beta Cam camera would make better images than the XL-1, so I'm curious why it was such a big mistake. Again, looking forward to part 2!

Oh wow you named 3 things. Thats barely any, you act like its all of there videos. Why dont you stop whining about Film Riot doing interviews which is a rare thing and just not watch it if u dont like it so much. Your complaining is pointless.

I love it how at the end Jason said it was a boring episode, which by the way it was not at all, but then came the teaser for the next episode, and now I see why he would say that. Can't wait for the next episode: )

Well sir, you have the Bloody Cuts Interview, the interview with Al Mooney (From adobe, you have Eric Kessler, and so on with last year as well, so I believe you are the one who needs to get your eyes checked.

That is not all Film Riot is doing are you kidding me? they did 1 interview with 1 group of guys and that is all they are doing Are you kidding me? You need to get your eyes checked.

I would love to see more screenwriting videos. because interviews can get annoying (that is all Film Riot is doing now and it kinda sucks) but this is a great video: D

This is a fantastic episode of Friday 101 Russel! I think it would be a great idea if you made every episode an interview with a different filmmaker

Honestly, Russ, I like IndyMogul much more than Film Riot. You actually listen to your viewers and care what they say. I think that's cool.

Be warned though you loose access to the best codecs with that, and it has a very different thought process than standard software.

I love how he almost lost the interview, so he tries to relate to him to keep his attention, and it sure as hell worked: P

Why did they delete the other two parts? These videos were some of the most influential videos for me as a young filmmaker
reply

Hey no problem, I'm not mad just pointing it out. It was a great video can't wait for the other parts!

Very interesting, thanks for the reply! Really looking forward to hearing the next part of the story.
