you said it perfectly, the best packs are the ones you can always use, even after you get tired the specific mechanics or worlds. That's why Seasons is always one of the best packs and why seasons in general is one of those things that needs to be in the base game, it runs in the background and you will always use the features and items from that pack even if you're not specifically playing a Seasons-based gameplay. You can't do that with, say Island Living, Into the Future or the various University packs, for as many features those packs have, you have to look for those features and if you're not using them, might aswell not have them installed, because they're very specific to the experience of that pack and/or that world.

Lunar Lakes is alright, but from my post-S3 POV, where I have all the expansions and tend to play the game with all of them turned on, it's a small town. You know what isn't? There's a CC town name Belatrix that was made with an alien world aesthetic and uses LL items like the rabbitholes and the plants, but with plenty of space for the various lots from other packs.
On the other hand, I am very fond of the Tree of Prosperity, and if one wants to add the missing rabbitholes to Oasis Landing, the Warp Gates work well in the futuristic theme. I orginally borrowed one of the Belatrix lots which hand four or five warp gates on each of them, but one version of OL, I started laying them out on tiny lots scattered around.

The idea of it being colonised by a crash landing of people is intresting but I really wanted this to be an alien town. Like how cool would that be? A town where all the premade families and townies are all aliens, apart from maybe one family of humans who crash landed. But now this town is pretty but doesn't actually change the came play at all it's still just the exact same town you normally play with but with an alien moon aesthetic. Does anyone know a mod for making townies aliens? If so please let me know

this would go great with Into the Future. i just hate how buggy Sims 3 has gotten, whereas Sims 4 hasn't really given me any problems that are major. Seems Sims 3 was just an experimental project that got big, but EA just got lazy with it and half assed a lot of things in it, taking out a lot of aspects from previous games, but selling them on the store. seems they're doing that somewhat with Sims 4, but free patches/updates kinda make up for it.

Going back this is still my favourite town. I'm over realistic stuff in 4 and are dying for a sci fi, futuristic or steampunk pack. Paired with into the future made this shine so much more than the rest that felt like generic places in America. and i remember when people hated rabbit holes and wanted every building explorable. yeah that went well didn't it? Aged like moldy bread.

Me too! It used to be so easy. I've tried making some before, but making one that actually looks decent takes a lot of work. And, yeah, that blank lot thing is rather annoying. I can never get them in the right spot or close enough to a road so they're not just awkwardly out in the middle of nowhere. Or on a hill, like you said. The hills look nice, but holy crap, they're everywhere! Dx

What's even the point of a new town if there's no unique locations to make it stand out? At least with a stuff pack you get an assortment of new items you can use regularly and full expansion packs usually add new towns anyways, yes they typically run about $40 but you get alot content, not just a new town, objects and clothes but new jobs and game play features

There's a certain kind of thing that happens when you raise a price, which is that less people will buy it, but the ones that do will pay more.
I can see a sort of monopolistic -We're the only one who can release these items for you- and they rose the price, knowing people will buy them regardless of the real value of the quality.

My goodness after checking online it's still freaking 25 bucks. seriously, the sims 4 has been out for approaching three years, and this has been out for five. but nope, still 25 bucks, I guess they can try and justify that, saying -It's -premium- content- but after this long. premium is only premium for so long.

8 years later, this one is still my least favorite world. I mean yeah it looks awesome, but so much space is wasted on useless canals, and the housing plots are just microscopic. A couple years ago I saved the tiny little rabbit hole buildings to my library and haven't bothered with Lunar Lakes since then.
