Yes, 16/9 videos on a 16/10 monitor will have black bars, but it's a small drawback and considering cinema uses even wider video, black bars aren't going away anytime soon. The other problematic area of 16/10 are some console ports that don't support it, or do, but with slightly lower FOV, and that's about it. The bigger vertical resolution more than makes up for this, and if need be you still have native 16/9 in fact on my 1920x1200 monitor there's native 1600x1200 for old 4/3 only games.

Agreed. I saw the few videos they have out and am real excited for it. I've seen a lot of people calling it the next big coaster game, surpassing tycoon. the only thing I'm nervous about is whether it will have those extra -park owner- elements like setting up booths, being able to check out guests, etc. The coaster elements look incredible. I just hope it doesn't stop there, and the game feels like a full package. It's definitely a game I'll be watching out for.

: D - a different and challenging game by the looks of it, crowd sounds and people would improve it though. Can see 3D working for this also, like the IMAX type of thing perhaps, and even would work well on a colsole with rumble effects etc - and better -beefed-up- sound to make it even more realistic. I guess the simulator part is when you are riding your creations, but don't really understand what the rampage part is. Lol.

As you said, it is an intriguing idea. It's something the game could really build on but at the moment, it all looks so lacking with very few options or extras, the menus are poor, the campaign is close to nothing and free mode. And what's with the annoying, glaring flash each time the coaster takes off? I'd say the game has potential, but $10 for this? Are they nuts! $2 or $2. 50 tops.

I've talked to the developers, and they've actually listened to the complaints/concerns and addressed many of them through patches. But yeah, it's still a pretty meager offering, and they're actually making a much more fully-fledged game from this, tentatively called -Theme Park Studio-. Hoping it's awesome, because this really does have some interesting ideas.

I was just thinking too that this game would be infinitely better with people in it. Imagine if you had to collect the gems (with hopefully less annoying sound effects) while keeping the Gs low enough so that your people don't go flying out, complete with hilarious screaming and limb flailing of course. It sure would add a lot more strategy.

I know that feeling. My home park, Kings Island, was also one of the Paramount Parks to get sold. Whenever I go there with friends, we always refer to the rides by the Paramount era names too. I think everyone does. And as you've pointed out, it is clearly a common practice at the other former Paramount Parks as well.

Oh, and some better damage effects would work also, as it seems when riding you simply seem to land right way all the time - during the ride parts which would not be possible obviously. Great review though, it will be interesting to see how they improve on things in later versions - which will obviously follow!

Ever played Coaster Works on the Dreamcast? It's a similar game, but it's slightly more realistic. It measures whether you have enough speed to get over hills, whether your g-forces are low enough to remain safe, etc. Obviously the building mechanic is nothing like this, but it still works.

You know what you should review of the classic games. Mission Critical (DOS) and The House of the Dead (Win 95 -98. I shaw the box For the House of the dead in your asomeThe Neverhood game review. Both are asome games that i hope you like, and get to run. Good luck.
