Rainmaker Software's Isle of the Dead is an innovative mix of first-person shooter and point-and-click adventure game. Of course, innovation isn't always a good thing, as it often pops up on lists of the worst PC games of all time

That music is a masterpiece. I'll always shed a few tears when I hear that song playing. me and my wife got married and chose that for or wedding song. I've never danced so Passionately to a piece of music. I'm crying right now thinking about it. And oh my don't get me started about our honey moon to this music. Let's just say it was like sea world. Very wet.

Video games' BGM (BackGround Music) is supposed to create an atmosphere in the game. The song in this game is supposed to represent feeling uneasy, nervous, and afraid after experiencing the fallen airplane into a remote island and finding yourself in an island that has monsters.
I think the song did well as a BGM, although I probably wouldn't listen to it personally

It's sort of a early 90s Far-cry ish and Dead Island ish type of game. I think it was just to far ahead of it's release 10 years later with the tech it would have worked much better. The Wolf3d engine just was not up to the task, Duke3d may have worked better but that was still years away and to license the engine would not have been cheap.

Maybe the team was just under time pressure and deadlines. This actually looks like a decent game - just not groundbreaking or -great-. I would not say it can deserve the worst game ever made award. The idea I literally like a lot and maybe gameplay is bad only because of deadlines effecting this kind of innovation badly to be honest.

There should be like a restaurant where they have all styles or at least levels of pc's to use as you eat. bring your own keyboard and mouse of course. be cool to take a lunch at a little corner place and play some old games that i can't find anywhere nor can i run them.

I remember growing up; I would go to Radioshack to play this. Yes. They had computers (maybe like five or six) with this running. You could just go and play this for however long you wanted until they kicked you out for not buying anything.

Anyone else notice how that double barrel shotgun doesn't need to be reloaded? It's like it's semiautomatic as well as has a magical, endless magazine of shotgun shells. That magically runs out when the game says you ran out of ammo.

I tried this game on a shareware cd or something, thought it sucked back then. Some friend at school hyped a game called Monkey Island. Somehow I mistook it for this one and said that it sucked. :D

It's a very shitty came, but at least they tried. ;-) The artwork and animations were pretty ambitious for such a small project.

Literally the only thing that looked good about this game was the animations and little cutscenes. Those cartoonish zombies and that art style is pretty dope.
