If Duke Nukem had a twin separated at birth, it would have been Halloween Harry! Grab your flamethrower and mini-nukes and shoot up aliens, zombies, and all sorts of nasty creatures in Alien Carnage

This Game (together with Bio Menace) had probably an Influence in Duke 3d. Duke has blendet with the other two heroes.
-Harry introduced the concept of women trapped in goo and the body horror done to them. Harry is however more of a gentleman.
-Harry made the Jetpack cool.
-Harry is clearly on Steroids.
-Bio Menace put the setting into a realisitic setting and added extreme violence, to make the horror more edgy. The same concept was later used by Duke 3d (and Half Life. In fact you could say Bio Menace is to Duke (or Harry ) that Half Life is to Doom.

I remembered the shareware version I had from the mid-90s (the store I worked at got a ton of old shareware titles we sold for a buck apiece. It was Halloween Harry there too.
After watching your video I found the freeware release at 3DRealms' old site. Downloaded it, unzipped the volume, opened up DOSshell and within a minute of configuring was happily playing the game (running Win 7 Ultimate 64bit.
Thanks for the review!

Seeing this game again reminds me of Bio Menace, another Apogee game for the PC (I think its levels were more linear than those of Alien Carnage, though.
I noticed that you have a copy of Harvester above your copy of Blood for the PC. I request that you review Harvester, especially since the game was highly unappreciated by PC Game magazines (Personally, I think it's great, especially in terms of plot and social commentary.

So I was looking to see if you had a review of the Texas Instruments TI-99 and you don't, I see a box for one on your shelf, will you be doing a video for it any time soon? would you recommend getting one? they don't seem too badly priced and was wondering if they were an alright choice

Man, I'd love to see you do a voice pack for XCOM 2 as The Duke. I mean there's already a few out there with the original lines but one that is specifically tailored for XCOM 2? Yeah, sign me up. I'd love to hear Duke (you) say lines directly related to the alien invasion and ADVENT.

Actually I was wondering when you would do the review and there you go: . Almost the same as for Hocus Pocus (still waiting xD. And yes it's the same as for me, back in the day the shareware version of halloween harry was just awesome. Well. that was 20 years ago: 3.

Amazing, I also played this game here in Korea in 1996 and it was the private computer teaching class in my town where I played shareware version of it. Still the memory of the hero going up and down in the office buidling with the jet pack lingers in my mind.

Halloween Harry. that really was good fun back then.
Somehow that reminds me. have you ever played the title -Abuse-?
It's one of the first action platformers I remember that combined mouse and keyboard controls and the result of that was a real blast.

I always felt like this game was just long enough to be worth picking up, but not so long as to overstay its welcome.
It finds a good balance with the sprawling levels and occasional backtracking by not having TOO many of them. I like it.

Fun Fact: This games artwork and animation was drawn by Steve Stamatiadis, who'd go on to create and design the 'Ty the Tasmanian Tiger' and 'Blade Kitten' game series.
Halloween Harry was also the first game he ever worked on.
