Gameplay and overview of The Sims 4. What are the new features? How does it compare to The Sims 3? Is it worth buying? Questions, answers, snark! Alex: I am a big fan of the sims growing up as well. I sort of struggled being a sims fan since I never really had an updated gaming PC between the years of like 2008 until about 2019 so for me from loving the original and expansions I more or less moved on to the console versions and back in that era I did actually have tons of fun with a good batch of them. Highlights for me include the sims and sims busting out, sims 2 and sims the urbs all on PS2. I also LOVED the Gameboy advance sims busting out I still think that one is really under-rated. I would also add in that I did rather enjoy sims 3 for ps3 back at that time. Always recently I finally got a good laptop and dove into 3 with tons of expansions and have been enjoying it but still deciding it I should stick with it or just jump into sims 4 so thank you for the video!

I feel like this game puts more effort into trying to be inclusive than trying to make a good game. I see the devs put more effort in trying to get a pat on the back from the lgbt than they do addressing problems that still exist like the toddler highchair issue, bugs that still plague the game, and more.
Can-t really be surprised though, EA-s Sims is only in it for the money. Crap like the graduation ceremony in the university dlc amounting to nothing more than staring at a building while your sim is inside is just one of the many examples as to the lack of effort they put into this stuff. They really need a competitor to make a game that-ll kick their ass and make them have to actually be better. Here-s hoping Paralives and more do exactly that

I remember when it was coming out, and I saw the ads and everything, and I was waiting to see the latest cool new things that they'd implemented, and I just didn't see anything. So I waited for it to come out, and then checked out reviews, and was so disappointed that they hadn't added anything new or fascinating with the new Sims. I loved 1, 2, and 3. Each one was an obvious improvement upon the other, and I wanted 4 to offer something new and fun, but it seems it never got there. I'll see what they do with 5, if they get there.

Sims 2 and 3 you could play without any expansions they just made it even more fun but the base game was amazing on its own. But Sims 4 you need the expansions for any amount of fun and mods for a really thrilling game play. Even forgetting 3 happened it could have still improved on sims 2 concepts and game play and it didn-t. It feels like this should have been the second one then sims 2 then sims 3. I hardly even load up the game anymore I-m so glad I didn-t waste money on all the packs. Sims 2 is still my preferred game.

I just started playing ts3, after skipping straight from ts1 and ts2 to ts4. There's only two things I miss from ts4: multitasking and build mode. everything else is completely useless to me. Ts3 is superior in so many ways, and it's so great how cheap it is nowadays. I'm finally enjoying PLAYING the sims again, not just building or whatever. I feel sorta dumb for having not played it before, since it's so much more similar to ts2 - which i adore to this day - but, better late than never!

Came back from 2021 to watch this again. I keep trying to stay interested in TS4 but it's SO dumbed down and politically correct. Then I go back to TS3 and am thrilled by the brilliant behavioural animations, the number of traits that actually affect the sim, better ambitions AND THE OPEN WORLD!
But then the building/decorating is difficult to relearn and looks bad. So I end up going from one to the other until I just have to take a break for a few months to play other games.

Now that it's been so long and there's more content (both from EA and from the amazing modding community, I am enjoying the Sims 4 more -- HOWEVER, one thing I still can't get used to is the lack of open world. I just hate it so much and it keeps me from going places. There are so many other vast open world games, so it's not like the technology isn't available. Just getting rid of the constant load screens would make the experience SO much better.

i forgot how bad the game was when it first came out. i can-t believe it used to cost $60! that-s ridiculous, especially with how much it was lacking. it still is lacking quite a bit compared to previous sims games. but so much better than 6 years ago. still waiting for color wheels with CAS, open world, etc.
LGR has been a big help in deciding what DLC i should get for my sims games and i will always come here for reviews! -

After 6 years I-m still not a fan of how the towns/neighbourhoods work in the game. Things just feel really disconnected when you see people who don-t even live in your town show up. Yes it allows you too see a wider variety of sims however going back and playing The Sims 3 picking where you-re gonna live in that game feels like more of an important decision compared too The Sims 4.
