Vintage computer hardware, oddware, PC games, software, and just lots of neat thingies. Fantastic as always, thank you to everyone: ) ItsHyomoto: Hah, that was my first CD-ROM. I knew what it was before you even spun it around from the connections on the back, so nostalgic. Now just get a copy of ResEdit and build yourself some Hypercard programs! That's what I did with it!
EDIT: Ended up having to click edit when you pulled out that Elite Force box. I ended up with something like that a while back but it's a copy signed by at least some of the development team. It's hard to say because some signatures aren't really legible, but Kevin Long and Jeff Butler among others are and they were artists. So I can't say I know who EVERY one is, but seeing you unbox that as a QuakeCon thing just makes me wonder more about the history of this thing.

That terminal keyboard is from a 3720 series terminal designed to connect to an IBM mainframe system like a System/370-XA, ESA/370, or ESA/390. From the 1987 date code, probably a System/370-XA or ESA/370 is what it was originally talking to. With a 3174 Establishment Controller of the right type, you can still connect a 3270 to a modern z/System mainframe, or to the Hercules emulator (pretending to be any mainframe from an original release System/370 up to the newest z.
The other kind of Model M 122-key terminal keyboard out there is for the 5250 series terminals, which were only for the AS/400 series midrange computers (know known as the i/Series)

dude you must have a big ass storage somewhere! where do you put all this stuff! you need an assistant to help you keep everything in good order.
some serious questions here. maybe you answered those already cause they seem quite common. In case, can you refer me to an FAQ section? or maybe create one? or just answer on the fly.
what happens to the doubles?
what happens to the stuff that's not really worth collecting?
will you open a museum at some point of time?
are original floppy disk from let's say 1983 still readable?
keep on collecting, you are about to become the most important curator of mankind's software legacy. i am serious.

Hey LGR. I was wondering how you feel about Sleeper PC builds? Building a modern computer inside an old case. (kinda like your Altair) I've been considering doing a sort of cobbled together Sleeper set up for ages, and I just grabbed an ENVISION 19- 1600 x 1200 monitor for 15 bucks, (which is actually a higher resolution than my lcd monitor was running at XD) This turn of events has rekindled my interest in it. I want to get a big horizontal PC case that I can set the monitor on top of, Do you have any tips for case modding or cramming modern components in an early 90's case?

Hey Clint. I got the chance to pick up a Pentium III 800EB computer with 256MB of RAM for absolutely free. Should I go for it? I do have a very soft spot for this era of computers but I wouldn't really have the space to set it up and it would sit in my storage room until I eventually move into a bigger flat. Getting late 90's computers isn't that easy where I live anymore but I'm a bit afraid of the commitment. What do you think I should do?

Tzar was an awesome game; I played it constantly growing up.
Was an RTS with RPG mechanics; units had levels and stuff, there were items they could use. just, really really cool and unique at the time.
Always wanted to go back and play it in the recent years, but it's resolution limited and I don't have a CRT I can use to play it, so unless I find some resolution mod somewhere, I'll never get the chance to relive it.

The tiny DS boxes appear to hold the real carts for the Japanese versions of Pokemon Ranger and Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time. I haven't played the former, but I was literally playing the same exact version of the latter while watching this video and can say it's a fun rogue-like, but requires decent Japanese reading ability.

Damn, count yourself lucky! I've been trying to find an x-24 for years. one of 3 cards quantum 3D released to the retail shelf, with the s-12 and the Raven(Banshee) I save for 6 months on my first job to buy one when they were new, only to have my house robbed a few months later. Please do a video with it, i'd love to see one in action again!

Lots of great stuff this time!
Oddly enough, the thing that took me back the most here were the Radio Shack intercoms. I remember those from the really awesome catalogs Radio Shack used to put out. Seems almost silly now in the smartphone age, but the concept of talking to someone in another room seemed really cool as a kid.

Elite Force has a really epic Single Player campaign! Please play it and review! It was one of the best Quake 3 games to come about towards the end of the quake 3 life. And the story is pretty good too (set in the Voyager universe! - surprisingly the game story was better than most Voyager episodes.
