The juice is well and truly loose as Michael Keaton's bio-exorcist returns at long last with Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. It's the most Burtonish Burton movie yet, but there are moments that could've been bio-exorcised without being missed. I’m tired of people thinking / feeling that every movie should make a comment on our social condition. Who cares if the movie or director are represents racial diversity I watch movies for entertainment value not a commentary on diversity freedom or whatever. the news and society in real life spend more than enough time commenting on and fighting over it. As far as the child molester goes I did not know. However that was the actor in real life not his character in the movie I have no problem with his character being mentioned in the movie. Just like I still like R Kelly’s and Michael Jackson music. I don’t like the people, but I like the music. People and their deeds need to be separated A good person can do bad things and a bad person can do good things. The deeds should stand for themselves good or bad.
Audie Murphy won the the medal of honor in World War II, he was also an actor briefly and a child molester his deeds in world War II do not make him a good person he just did good deeds for my country at the time.
Movies are supposed to be an escape from reality if you don’t like the move don’t watch it. If you want socially responsible or politically correct movies go watch those there are plenty of them out there. Otherwise just let a movie be a move and let people draw their own conclusions if the enjoy it or not.

I did not like this movie. All the men in the Deetz family are either killed off or poor examples of men. Charles Is a headless dead guy, Astrids father is dead and was divorced from Lydia when he could have been living and still married to Lydia, and the step dad figure is a scumbag who was only taking advantage of Lydia There was no positive male protagonist for the male audience to relate to and balance it out like Adam Maitlands character did. On the other hand all of the women's roles were terribly written. Delia and Lydia were like parodies of how they were in the orginal and they both acted like complete lunatics. Jenna Ortega was like watching paint dry again terribly written, her character could have been far more interesting. There was some elements that genuinely excited me though like Beetlejuice, Bob, the Bio Exorcist cops, and Delores. The part where she escaped from the box and stapled herself together was awesome. All they had to do was stick close to those elements and it would've been great instead of the bad acid trip they took me on. I am massively let down by this movie being that the first one is a perfect work of art.

I'm sorry but the Diversity card being used is a crock of shit, not every movie needs to be diverse in the cast and in many ways it doesn't fit the overall tone, hate it where now studios are forced to dig into being diverse just out of fear of being called out as racist
The way this is centered on is making it look like you think Tim Burton is a bonafide racist, where in reality he probably doesn't even think about it that way
He literally cast Billy Dee Williams as Harvey Dent/Two Face in Batman 1989, a character that in the comics is white.
Aside from that pathetic point, i agree with mostly the rest of the critique on Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.

I almost walked out of the movie theater halfway through the movie. The movie was unoriginal on so many levels and it takes elements from American Horror Story, Wednesday, Corpse Bride, and more. Also, aside from Tim Burton's wife not having a significant role, Willem Dafoe was underutilized as well. I'd give that movie a 2. 5 out of 5 stars, which is disappointing because the first Beetlejuice was original and fresh at the time.

diversity since when lack of diversity is wrong there's a lack of chinese too, but it doesn't affect the plot. people love it, obviously. you shoul've celebrating a great movie secuel after 30 years
tim burton just did the movie he wants with te cast he wants

More diversity would have done nothing to make it better. In all honestly hiring someone because of their race is the most racist thing you can do. You’re essentially treating people of colour as a prop, using them for their appearance rather than their acting
reply

But there were black actors.
Its a white, middle-class community and there were black folks in the afterlife.
What more could you want Oh, you want a token black character. I get it now.
And 'Ortega' isnt white. Lydia married a Latino fella.

reply

Actors of color Enough. There’s plenty of choices for those looking for diversity. God forbid one movie casts actors based on them being right for the role instead pandering. This is a big reason why most new movies are forgotten a year after release
reply

What are you talking about diversity If all the actors where different humans, i wouldn't care, as long as the casting fits the characters. Stop catering towards an extremely small minority.
reply

The diversity thing is bs plenty of diversity in Burton films he doesn’t think that when casting but the other stuff is spot to many characters stories ended abruptly
reply

complains 1. need more diversity just because. 2. don include a character because its actor was a pediphile. seriously. can't belive I just watched this review.
reply

Diversity Really Looper you're stretching. Continually pushing the Woke garbage. As you can tell by the comments I'm not alone in this sentiment.
reply

The Movie is really fun especially if you are a fan of the original, after so many years it turned out as good as anybody could have hoped.
reply

Regardless of Jeffey Jones' crimes, he still originated the character and your own personal disgust is not a reason to exclude his likeness.
reply

Bleeding heart WHITE liberals think everything would be better if things were more diverse. Everythiing doesn't have to be!
reply

The criticism for this film is overly dramatic. It was really entertaining, nostalgic and fun watch. Take it for what it is.
