video description
In 10, 000 years, when interbreeding has made all humans the same off white race, there will be a shit ton of whiney emotional babies searching as hard as they can for something to be ruslted about. In fact they'll use their advanced triggered technology to clone long lost races so they can comfortably return to being offended.

after reading the book I was a bit disappointed with how small of a character they made Mike. and Stan, for that matter. as for just disturbing scenes that were in the book but not the movie, I understand that there couldn't possibly have been enough time for them to all fit in.
mainly, I'm upset that most of the deleted scenes didn't make the cut, especially the one that shows Henry before he follows the Losers into the Neibolt house, because it shows that he's lost his mind (by being possessed by It) and has killed his friends. other deleted scenes I wish they'd included: Stan standing up for himself during his bar mitzvah; more signs of Henry's abuse; the tension between Bill and both his parents, not just his dad; and the rest of the Losers waiting outside the Neibolt house the first time Bill, Richie and Eddie go in/Mike comforting Stan and his fear/Ben's moment with Bev

I loved the movie. I felt like they kept nearly everything that made the book so good and all the changes remained on brand and were in spirit loyal to the book. This is the same difficulty I have with the Kubrick version of The Shining. The things that were changed in The Shining detracted from the original story line and turned a really intense book that was an allegory for addiction and played on the terror of creeping, late onset mental illness, as well as isolation into a run of the mill ghost story where things seem to have been changed just for the hell of it 'because Kubrick'. In the book the ghosts could just as easily just be their personal demons manifest, but in the film, they were just ghosts. I'd love to see more of King's books adapted the way IT was adapted. I'd love to see The Shining done by the same crew, as well as Desperation.

I was and still am cool with most of the changes they made.
Personally, I feel that the original novel, while an entertaining read, wasn't one of Stephen King's best. Stuff like the Ritual of Chud and It's rather convoluted origins and history took away from the book's stronger parts; they made things feel more complicated than they needed to be and kind of felt out of place (which is saying something considering the kind of story this is.
This new film version of the book is, to me, a good example of how an adaptation can greatly improve upon it's source material while still ringing true to said source material's best aspects. It makes me all the more curious as to how Part 2 will be handled. :)

The book also showed richie and bill going into the niebolt street house and getting an inch away from it as a werewolf as they are attacked by a werewolf like pennywise dosent screw around. The book also takes the perspective of it and stating that she is female. there is bens mummy, and frankenstein killing victor and belch. georgie winking, the eye in the sewer. eddie corcrans death adrian mellons death. there is a lot more but its 1100 page book what do you expect.

I've always felt surprised by how well the IT movie went. When I first heard there was going to be a new film adaptation, I thought Hold on, isn't there already a film adaptation?
I didn't quite realize back then how meh the 1990 miniseries was, but either way it wouldn't be out of left-field to believe that the movie would be panned and not make as much money as it did.

In a deleted scene from the movie, Henry is shown waiting in the car outside the house on Neibolt Street when the Losers go in to finish Pennywise once and for all. He makes a remark (I cant remember what he said but it isnt important) and jokingly turns around to look at Victor and Belch who have had their throats slashed and are both dead in the car.

Eddie Corcharan (sp) was in the 1st reboot, although he died differently and his story was changed. Bill states only he borrowed a pencil once while in the book Bill notes I know his dad yah-yah-used to beat him. And his bro was killed with a hammer, like you said. I love the book, but there are chapters I skip past. Too messed up

Horror fan? Check out 'Ash VS Evil Dead'. It's a horror/comedy staring Bruce Campbell, Lucy Lawless, Lee Majors etc. The first two seasons are up on Netflix with season 3 airing on Starz. It's one of the most original shows I've seen in years and it's on the bubble as not a lot of people are even aware that it exists.

Maturin the Turtle is The opposite, good, anti Pennywise. The creator of the universe is called Gan. Gan is the creator being in all of King's novels.
Looper, do some better research next time. How could you ever think Maturin the Turtle is The creator of the universe? That is nowhere in the book!
