Raw - heard of it, seen similar films, I may give this a try, but it's not a priority. mother! - I couldn't finish this film, either. I found it dull & pretentious, although you made it look interesting, so I may give it another try. The Killing of a Sacred Deer - _A24_ is the sign of a good film & I loved this. It was dark, original, strange, thought provoking, tense, well acted. I recommend it. The Snowman - this film is a joke / flop & I'm sad Michael Fassbender was in it, because he's very talented.

bad batch was not confusing just terrible,
felt like they were trying way to hard to be edgy and forgot to add a compelling story, catchy music and pretty desert shots will only get you so far.
momoa staring at nothing got old real fast.
quiet and stoic is not interesting when thats pretty much all u get,
what people must or can become become under dire circumstances is a interesting idea but its not original in anyway, i guess making it boring is an accomplishment in it self.
there are movies like drive, no county for old men or the beginning of there will be blood that makes great use of a quiet protagonist/antagonist.

You are right on one most of these! I watched The Bad Batch twice because I thought I fell asleep and missed something! I was wrong, turns out I stayed awake and it really was that bland. A Cure for Wellness was actually pretty good! I have it saved on my DVR and watch it every now and again just for kicks. I did see The Snowman and I must say, I was let down by the movie. From the add I saw it looked like a good movie, but alas, it was just not that good. I didn't see any of the others so I now know that I will most likely skip them.

In the Killing of a Sacred Deer, I never thought I would find myself laughing at a scene of a guy spinning around blindfolded with a gun surrounded by his own family. :P It certainly needs context and a watchful eye to see what not only brings him to that situation, but it also says a lot about his character that he comes to that decision. And that kid, he's got one of those faces that just makes what's happening in the movie that more. world building. I worded that wrong and couldn't think of a good word near the end. :P

Mother! to me was an absolute masterpiece! I really thought the Darren really did do his best on representing the world in which we live in today. From the religious views, to fame and even abusive relationships and he tried to put as many religions into the movie so that way everyone could somehow relate. Also its kinda wake up call for many when it comes to taking care of our planet.

Loved, loved, loved Mother - hypnotic, mind-expanding, claustrophobic build-up, visually stunning - was sad at the end knowing I would never have these same feelings since I know how it ends - however, since I won't be distracted by the story, I can concentrate on the details because I WILL watch it again, this time on the big TV: ) (Probably twinned with XX - another great one)

I may have missed another comment about it but the kid in Killing of a Sacred Deer clearly used voodoo, hence the references to hair, bodily fluids, etc. He used those things from the family to place the curse on them. Really subtle but it's in there and recognizable if you're somewhat familiar with voodoo and putting roots on people.

Their summary of Bad Batch kinda misses the point. The girl understands that she can't go back to the conformity and comfort of society. She has become as much of an outcast as the cannibals, but in doing so, she has had a change on Miami man. That's why they're eating the rabbit at the end of the movie.

The Bad Batch is on Netflix and I considered watching it the other day. Will probably definitely watch it now. Hope the part about them taking her limbs isn't dragged out. The Netflix description said it was a mix between Mad Max and Pretty in Pink. That right there had me intrigued.

Ah, I liked the Bad Batch. But yes, a somewhat unsettling movie with some baffling story choices. But since the whole movie is so out there, the ending really doesn't bother me. You just can't let the Dream get inside of you: P
Oh, and Jim Carrey's performance was awesome: D
