Rating: 4.0; Vote: 1
These are the best Severus Snape moments! For this list, were paying tribute to the snarky, brooding, hook-nosed potions master and his most iconic moments from both the books and movies. Wed also like to dedicate this video to the late Alan Rickman, who brought the role of Severus Snape to life through all eight Harry Potter film adaptations. Weve included Snapes quidditch save, the tension in the shrieking shack, duelling club, occiumency lessons, the first potion class and more! Special thanks to our user plastictongue for suggesting this idea at

It was not a feud, at least not for a while (if it ever was, it was bullying, plain and simple. It's misleading to call it a feud. Even moreso in the movies version. Plus it wasn't the only reason for Snape to be mad at Sirius: he thought the later had betrayed Lily and sold her to Voldemort.
In the book, Harry was a lot more guilty in the scene where he discovered SWM, because he went out of his way to pry into Snape's pensive; so Snape had more reason to kick him out.
In the scene where he taught about werewolves, I'd like to point out that Hermione answered out of turn and Ron spoke to another student during the lesson, without permission, five points taken from Griffondor is, imo, reasonable.
Assuming your using the movies (because what you said in the other entrees) and not the books, we see Snape being mean to Harry in their first lesson, but when and how do we see him favoring Slythering?
He loved Lily, we don't know that he was IN love with her.

My top list:
1. Always with Expecto patronum and look at me you have your mother's eyes(Snapes Death and whole Snapes memories.
2. Snape's appearance (in Noctem scene deleted from Half-blood Prince which was musical and without any dialogue )
3. Severus please (killing Dumbledore and reactions before and after it)
4. I'm the Half-blood Prince and Deathly hallows part 1 when he goes to Malfoy manor(badass moments of Snape)+he watching Voldemort kill his friend.
5. Saving Harry in Quidditch match
6. Occlumency class and worst memory
7. attacking Sirius Black and later protect Harry, Ron, and Hermione from werewolf Lupin.
8. first potion class and the unbreakable vow
9. turn to page 394 and find Harry when harry find Peter on the map and not too fast Potter
10. Expeliarmus and Sectum Sempera

Snape's worst memory isn't being bullied by James.
The movies do a poor job portraying this, and even the books require some thought on the matter. But the reason that memory was Snape's worst was that he alienated Lily, his best friend and the only woman he ever loved. James and Snape had been feuding for years and had numerous bullying incidents, but this was the one where he referred to Lily as a Mudblood and ultimately led her into the arms of James Potter.

If you guys don't know why Snape killed Dumbledore is because Dumbledore had a curse coursing through his hand that was slowly killing him and to prevent a horrible and painful death Dumbledore makes an agreement to Snape that when the time comes Snape will make a quick and painless death using the Killing Curse both to fool the Dark Lord and to destroy the curse coursing through Dumbledore's hand.

I think the reason why Snape is my favourite character in Harry Potter is how grey he is. There are reasons to like him, and a bunch of reasons to not (one of the strongest, of course, that passionate hate towards Harry just for looking like James. I love too how he swims all the story between these too much intense emotions he has: the love for Lily and the hate for James.

with his encounter with sirius and remus, you forgot how snape also still thought that sirius was lilys secret keeper and the man who ratted them out to voldemort. this was more than school grudges, he still thought that sirius was the reason the love of his life was killed

The shrieking shack scene should have been WAAAY higher, it was tense and dark and mysterious, obviously nothing compared to the book version, but it was still awesome. Especially listen to you to quarreling like an old married couple
reply

You never showed the part in the prisoner of Azkaban where Snape literally lunges between Harry and the werewolf to make sure that he gets hurt before Harry does. I fell in love with him right there on the spot,
reply

Snape has been my favourite since I was or 10 years old. I remember shivering when I heard him say Turn to page three hundred and ninety four. As I've grown older, he's only gotten more of my love for him.

Who comes here the 1st time knowing that the No. 1 moment is Always?
Seriously though you can't just not agree that that was the best scene in the entire franchise.

reply

The reason why snape gave a question to harry not anyone else cuz he wanted harry to find out that he is heartless coz his heart died with her _lily_ RIP ALAN RICKMAN
reply

I also like the scene in The prisoner of Azkaban when Snape protects the kids with his body against Lupin. I never see that scene in these videos.
reply

Number 5 that scene pushes punches u right in the gut.
And Number 3 killed me.
Number 1 every bloody time.
Damnit now im crying

reply

Nagini ultimately killed snape, therefore the elder wand belonged to nagini (yes I know later it says later that it never belonged to snape)

How come we never get to see the turkeys that must be all over the place at Hogwarts, or do they get the feathers for the pens in Diagon?

reply

from the first book i knew that Snape was a good guy but it wasnt until the 6th book when i realized he was in love with Lily
reply

Trick question! Nelson Mandela once said that a Saint is a sinner who keeps on trying! Therefore! Snape is BOTH Saint AND Sinner!
reply

By far his best moment for me is when Harry says it was Malfoy who cursed Katie, I just know, and Snape says, you just. know.
reply

10 years later and Always scene still has me in tears. Literally the most heartbreaking twist to ever come from that series.
reply

It was OBVIOUS what was number 1! Always is the Harry Potter version of I am your father. The big reveal of the series!

Always
Turn the page 39foh.
Take it. Take it. take them all.
Look at me.
You have your mother's eye.

Snape IS my absolute most beloved n favorite character since early on in the series I always knew he was mysterious
reply

You have your mothers eyes.
One of Snapes most genuine final moments. The most complex character in the series.

reply

Harry didn't even bother to thank Snape after he got to know Snape was trying to save him falling off the broom.
