These plot holes just dont add up! For this list, well be counting down our picks for the Top 10 Gossip Girl Plot Holes You Never Noticed. Ever wonder how Nates career doesnt seem to add up? What ever happened to Lily and Rufus' son? What about the Charlie/Lola thing? And don't even get us started on Dan being Gossip Girl

So I watched Gossip girl(for the first time) knowing Dan is going to be revealed as gossip girl, and closely followed for inconsistencies. There were hardly any. From the beginning, in adds up that Dan is gossip girl. While no one could have possibly known for sure it was Dan, there were some easter eggs hidden. The biggest being with the first mention of gossip girl, the immediate next scene showing Dan sitting in front of a laptop(he had probably just published the post, and his being surprised is justified since he didn't see Serena at the station; he merely received a tip. Add to it the fact that Dan was the one character who was a writer. Then add to it being revealed in season 4 that Dan had been writing inside for a long time, and hence desperately wanted to 'get in'. Although with some of his posts, him attacking people closest to him and himself too from time to time, it makes you wonder whether he has a megalomaniac side which completely overpowers him from time to time. The whole reason I watched Gossip Girl(after finishing you season 3) is Penn Badgley, and I have to say there are many parallels which can be drawn between Dan and Joe. As Penn rightly said in one of his interviews, they're the same guy but Joe has blood on his hands!

Dan being Gossip Girl isn't a plot hole, it makes sense. But they were obviously not going to make it seem like it because that's the point, but to me it made perfect sense that it was Dan. He was an outsider who so badly wanted a life like the other mains and eventually he got it both through his father's marriage and his eventual marriage to Serena and the whole show was him trying to get status and into that world, hence him being so obsessed with commenting on the lives of others. And to not make it obvious, of course he had to write shit about himself, his sister, his Dad etc. on there so it drew attention off him. It was a great ending imo.

Wait. Lily and Will didn't end up together, she kisses Rufus in the finale. I always wondered when Scott would be back. It was like he stopped existing and was never even mentioned again. The biggest plot hole was Chuck's mother. I believe it really was Elizabeth, she looked just like him. Saying it was Diana was just randam as all hell. And then it started to look like it was his father that he needed to find out. But I don't think Jack was ever his father, that was weird too. Dan Humphrey was the most confusing character, did he really do all THAT for his story? Did he ever really love Serena?

Clearly whoever made this video has never lived in New York. This is how New York is for poor people as far as drinking at 13 at clubs
. Look at Aquaria the winner of rupauls drag race season 10. She used to perform in gay bars at 14 and everyone had to wait 7 years for her to be old enough for drag race.
I think ms. Mojo, just has no earthly idea that in New York the only restrictions are an unconvincing personality or your bank account. But having either of those characteristics are both VALUABLE CURRENCY

There is a lot of times where dan is literally present and gossip girl shares the blast, like, how did he do it? in that time, cellphones weren't that advanced to allowed blog post from a simple phone, there is a lot of mistakes, times where he couldn't know or even being capable of doing awful stuff, if he really is gossip girl, then is probably the most psychopath character of all, and everyone just forgave him after doing so much damage to them

Biggest plot hole is how Serena forgave Dan for being GG after like 2 mins of knowing. didn't make any sense, especially considering GG ripped her to shreds for years. I think the Dan/Serena getting together at the end was so forced. And the bad chapter he published about her made zero sense, it was just an excuse to postpone them getting together at the very end. Also, Jenny and Eric falling off the face of the earth was bizarre.

Little Jenny's size: Taylor Momsen was almost the only cast member the same age as her character, so her height increased visibly during the run while everybody else seemed stuck at the same height (recall how she had to reach up to hug Dan when they were dragging the Christmas Tree around, but by the time he knocked down Chuck for deflowering her, she was big enough to have done a better job of it)

gossip girl is SO good, the dialogues, sceneries, dresses, music, pop culture references, that it can be completely unhinged and toxic and it doesnt annoy you at all. i feel the writers and actors never took themselves too seriously, so the viewers couldnt either. it somehow managed to achieve what fifty shades or and just like that could not.

#10 Nates Career: old NY money got him the promotion. This happens a lot in high society.
#9 with the time theyre in, Juliette was most likely emailing her brother which ex-cons do have access to.
#8 drinking age: fake IDs and money. More than likely Chuck also bought the club under Bass Industries which is perfectly legal.

I don't think it was impossible for Dan to have written some of the blasts because of that one episode where Serena was GG and she set a timer for when it was to be uploaded so I'm guessing Dan had that technique and also he mentioned that Jenny knew he was GG for a while so maybe she was working with him to conceal his identity.

I've noticed that the college thing has been a constant trope on CW shows. Smallville, 90210, everyone ends up dropping out, and yet they a; l somehow manage to achieve success in their various career goals, even those where degrees would be much needed.

Actually at some high end restaurants they dont card so if youre that rich it is that easy to get alcohol so ir is believable to an extent. This is the early 2000s Id imagine drinking laws for upper east siders were lax
reply

Personally after it was revealed that Chucks mom was dead, I assumed that the mom he was talking about in the pilot was a stepmother, the whole Elizabeth thing was just as weird as all of Barts conspiracies
reply

What i never understood it's how Lily got free from the false affidavit drama, one episode she was wearing an ankle monitor and suddenly she was no longer wearing it and the topic was never mentioned again.
reply

Bart Bass coming from death at the last season ruined the show and put a further restraint in Chair relationship where their wedding was finished in 20 minutes at the last episode with no grand leadups
reply

The first one was literally explained. Mr. Vanderbilt PAID his way into his grandson being the editor chief
And the third one, literally just hide a phone, people pay for these things inside

reply

Not plot holes but I love the fact that Lily is never without a husband! She goes from 1 to 2 upto 5 and then falls back from 5th to 4th to 1st. without even a day inbetween
reply

I've no idea how would Dan know anything about Diana Payne to blackmail her. He never would've kept such a big secret from his friends, even for his own benefit
reply

There's no way one could accept that Dan was GG bcz there were so many things he wouldn't want to post and act suprised to see them even when he was alone
reply

The fact they all had cellphones but insisted on hiking across town to hopefully find each other and have a 30 second vague conversation in person.
reply

biggest plothole Serena able to get into all Ivy leagues like brown, yale and columbia without breaking a leg and blair has to work hard
reply

I read a true upper east side students of these schools and the drinking anywhere they go like The Oak club, doesnt happen like that.
reply

The biggest disappointment of this show was only giving us a few episodes of their college lives. So much missed potential!
reply

6: 17 they did not end up together? in that last scene we literally can see lily and rufus kissing, they do not end up together
reply

I got most of these as a fan. The longer it went on the multiple messes are more. Colllege I agree the did they drop out?
reply

This show was 99% plot holes but it being so unrealistic was what made it so good cause real life is not like this
reply

The way everyone who found the GG blog just automatically knew how to write, as if writing engaging content is that easy.
reply

I never understood that this show was not profitable to the CW when it aired because it became iconic during this time
reply

it was so wired when dan posted about how serena was pregnant with his baby and then just let jenny and his dad see.
reply

Blair is the actual QUEEN! it started out w serena being the centre of the plot but blair took alll the 6 seasons
