Lotsos story was quite depressing. Lotso used to be owned by a little girl named Daisy. Daisy loved her toys including Lotso. As shown in the movie, Daisy takes her toys Lotso, Chuckles, and Big Baby, to the country-side to have a picnic. When Daisy fell asleep, her parents took her back to the car and abandoned all her toys and never returned to retrieve them. Lotso and his friends took a long walk back to Daisys house only to find that he had been replaced by another Lotso teddy bear. Feeling devastated, heartbroken, and betrayed, Lotso was filled with anger and grief. Chuckles tries to tell Lotso that Daisy only replaced him, but Lotso angrily rants at Chuckles and Big Baby that she replaced all of them and doesnt love them anymore. As the toys left Daisys house forever, they stumbled upon Sunnyside Daycare in which Lotso took control of the system and turned it into a high-security prison where no toy can escape his grasp. Over the years, hes become so cold-hearted and remorseless he has no qualities of redeeming himself; not even after being saved from the shredder. Lotso maybe one of the most evil Pixar villains, but hes also had one of the saddest backstories. He would have redeemed himself if he saved the toys from the incinerator; instead, he left them for dead.

I love Quasimodo but his backstory made me wanna cry when I first watched the film, because he went through a lot of things that he shouldnt have to go through and he was just a nice man trying to live his life! But the world keeps throwing him into tragedy!
I love him, and I wish that he deserved better! He deserved much better than what happened to him in the film! And I wanted to give him a hug! The same thing happened to Hercules when I was first watching his movie, he had a similar life all be it, different circumstances. But still his story made me sad! All the way up to The part where he goes on his big journey, I felt like I wanted to give him a hug, and comfort him. The fact that he went through something that Quasimodo went through, made it sadder to watch but also, what he was going through is so relatable! No spoilers for either film, but if you plan to watch these with your kids bring tissues because you might cry. These men go on journeys that will make you cry so be warned! In short, their back stories are pretty sad!

Ok I know that this character's story isn't as sad as some of the character's that is already on the list, but I believe that I deserve more attention. Maui's backstory from Moana. As a child, his parents didn't want him. So they neglected him and threw him in the ocean. When the Gods found him and gave him his demigod powers, he pulled up islands, lassoed the sun and stole fire just so that the humans would praise him and give him the love that he didn't receive as a child. He wanted to please all humans and be seen as a hero. Though, it is hinted that he wanted to be seen and appreciate as a normal human. In the end, the feeling of being neglected as a child and missing the love you would normally receive as a child caused him to steal the heart of Te Fiti because he wanted to bring something new for humans. Leading him to his thousands of years of exile.

I've never sat down and watched zootopia before, but it really hits me in two ways especially with Nick's backstory. First of all not only is he presented as a predator which is discriminated against because of a bias that everyone else has, which related to racism, but it also really speaks words for how guys are treated as well. The part where he says if anybody's ever going to see predators as only untrustworthy and shifty, why be anything otherwise? That's a lot of mindset that a lot of guys have. They get treated like garbage simply for being guys so they figure why am I going to try to be what they want me to be if I'm only going to be treated like shit for it regardless? I think I'm going to watch that movie because it really shows two sides of two different stories, with the same twisted moral

10: 37 Come on WM! Stop defending him! The Violet Bear is just unforgivable! He's in my top 5 characters I hate the most in Disney / Pixar lore! And no, his backstory pains me only for his buddies fellow, especially the baby doll
Don't you ever dare comparing my Jessie backstory to that piece of garbage
I hope he now enjoys mud, dust, mosquitoes, and tiny flies But for real, I think he'll instead spend afterward his time in the cabin along with the driver, because otherwise he won't smell good anymore after several rounds in the washing machine

I think Cauhoon sorry if I misspelled, from Wreck it Ralph should have been on this list. She is programmed with a backstory that pulls our heart strings. Her husband dies on her wedding day, because she didnt do a perimeter check. Her husband was eaten by a sci-bug, and had to shoot it. Also with the creepiest the theories about the sci bugs mutation, add on the fact it made her an insecure wife at first when Felix said dynamite gal. And then you have one of the most disturbing and sad backstories in the Disney franchise.

I agree with others on the fact that Hector deserved to be on this list. Poor guy just went on a tour with his so-called best friend to spread his passion of music, but after he got homesick, decided he was getting nowhere and wanted to go home to his wife and daughter, he gets murdered, his songs and his guitar (which was given by Imelda) are stolen, is unable to cross the bridge to reunite his family who now hate him because of a misunderstanding. Brb gonna go cry again

I feel like Wall-e should be on this list. At least as an honorable mention. His entire line was created to clean up an overpolluted Earth for nearly a thousand or so years. But not only was there too much trash to deal with, his fellow bots began breaking and he was left with only a bug for company. Worst part is that he uses the salvaged parts of his broken and deactivated brethren to sustain himself whenever he starts warring down. Its super messed up.

When I was in Middle School, my class watched the Fox and the Hound, and I was starting to cry at the scene to where Tod would be released into the wild. A few boys were laughing and making fun me for crying at what they called a baby movie. I was too into the movie to care since I have watched it several times before, but in Middle School, it was the first time that I realized how sad it was. At least the teacher stood up for me while I was watching it.

The Hunchback should never have been made! Read the original story as He is systematically abused by Frollo. Frollo only wanted him -so that all of the ladies he lusted after would be brought to him and he would rape them! And Disney remade it into a delightful story! It's only the second Disney Movie I ever walked out on! The other one was Pocahontas! thumbs down!

Burnett Stone, Tasha and PT Boomer:
Burnett fell in love with Tasha, which left Boomer jealous of their love. When Boomer found Lady, he chased the magic train, so Burnett made her go faster, too fast that they crashed, having to go to the shed in Muffle Mountain and keep Lady a secret.
From: Thomas and the Magic Railroad (Disney remake, fanon)

What about Meg from Hercules who sold her soul to hades for a guy who ditched her the first moment he got? Or Oliver from Oliver and company who had to watch all of his brothers and sisters be adopted and then was abandoned in the street and almost washed into the sewers
reply

ok great list but how dare jim be in the intro and not even an honorable mention. im still here gets me every time. also ive got to say even though hades is a villain, imagine being sent to control the underworld and never go to my olympic. im just saying
reply

Id probably put Kerchack on this list
Reason: throughout Tarzan hes grumpy and jerkish to Tarzan but at the beginning of the movie he shows love to his baby it isnt until his baby is eaten by sabor and I wouldnt put Kala on the list because shes kind to Tarzan

The closest thing I had to a brother passed away, claimed by this goddamn pandemic. My mama died from heart problems when I was a toddler, and my grandfather. Well, I watched him slowly waste away and die. Someone dealing with Alzheimer's is a sad, sad sight.
reply

Probably Tarzan he doesnt deserve to see his parents die by the leopard just turn back Time keep his parents alive oh and is he hadnt been born in the jungle then he couldve died in the messed up house that his parents made it with their two hands

Cinderella's Stepmother very mean to Cinderella and her Stepsisters was mean too and because Cinderella's mother already died and because Cinderella's father already married to Cinderella's Stepmother and that's very sad to watch. poor Cinderella
reply

Im sorry, but I feel as if though Kiras story should have actually been in the list instead of an HM. I mean, she essentially watched her mother be taken away from her and killed and then has her entire city be sunken to the depths of the ocean.
reply

I may not have liked Inside Out but when I first watched it and Bing Bong disappeared I bawled like a baby. And the moment Widow Tweed abandons Todd gets me crying every single time.
reply

Why, why, WHY was Hector from Coco not on here. Does being murdered because your fame-hungry friend doesn't believe in love, while your wife believes you abandoned her not make the cut?
reply

I'm surprised that Samson from The Wild didn't make it on the list. I know it's an underrated movie, but that doesn't change the fact that he was disowned by his own father.

I get bullied a lot at my private school because Im a girl and most of the students there are boys. I only have 2 other girls in my class, and none of them even like me

For Nick, if I was the leader of that branch of the Zootopia version of Boy Scouts, I would've personally kicked those brats out for what they did to Nick

I totally have compassion for Dory because after she had lost her family and suffers from short term memory loss it does make me sad.
reply

I feel like Maui should've been on the list. I mean, his parents straight up abandoned him and apparently THREW HIM INTO THE OCEAN!
