I think the thing that made JT's death so shocking is how random and violent and out of nowhere it was. It seemed like we were just getting a goofy episode with a house party and a drunken Emma with a sweet ending where Liberty and JT finally get back together, and then that Lakehurst goon comes out of nowhere and stabs him and BOOM! A character we've known and loved and watched basically grow up since season 1 is just gone like that.

Craig's bipolar, his trashing of the hotel room, and the fight with Joey should have been mentioned. Also when Joey and Caitlyn broke up. AGAIN. I also hated the last few episodes of Season 8 when the story writers trashed Paige's character development by turning her into a Hollywood wannabe and then it makes Paige turn into a monster and disrespecting her friends. Then we never hear about Paige's character after that.

Degrassi has so many dark moments, I can think of so many others. Like Claire getting cancer, the basketball coach abusing his power over KC, Drew getting almost beat to death by a gang, Emma getting an eating disorder, a strange man from the internet goes to Darcy's & Claire's house, Craig laughing at his dad's funeral, Emma meeting an adult, who she thought was her age online and I could go on.

The Craig and Sean train dodge scene no joke! Back in 1990 i knew a guy who got hit by a train! He and his friends were playing train dodge. This all happened early Freshmen yr of HS. I known him since 6th grade, he did survive. He was no longer to walk right for the rest of his life!

JT's death is even more painful when you go back and watch the show again. He had a promising future as either an actor, a fashion designer, or a veterinarian. He could have excelled at any of them but his life was sadly cut short.

I know the shooting and JT's death are classic dark moments, but Cam's suicide always shook me to my core. Bitter Sweet Symphony is such a cold, depressing, harrowing episode that makes me sob every time.

Cams suicide really affected me when I first watched it. It hurt to see how the people of Degrassi victim blamed him for taking his own life. Since Ive struggled with the same issues, it was a hard watch.

Rick was a great character. Just because he wasnt liked doesnt make him a bad character. Without him, Degrassi would never headed in the direction we know today.
