Credit card rewards: My family has been Disney Vacation Club members since 1998. We're able to take our family vacation in Disney World every year because of it, and to help us even more we have a Premiere Disney Visa card which we put literally EVERYTHING on throughout the year. The premiere card has an annual fee, but the extra rewards we get with it more than pay for that fee many times over so it's totally worth it for us.
The premiere card gets us 2% rewards at restaurants, gas stations, anything associated with Disney, and grocery stores (meaning that ALL purchases at Costco, Super Target, and Super Walmart count at 2% because they all contain grocery stores, and 1% on everything else.
Those reward dollars basically turn into Disney gift cards (although with the premier card you can exchange them for airline tickets, but we always drive) that we can spend out in Disney World every year. This year we had over $1100 in reward dollars, and it was all because of purchases we would have made anyway throughout the year! Not to mention that we get 2% rewards back when we put that card down on our resort and use it for all room charges when we're IN Disney World because it's all connected to Disney.
So. if you're a Disney fan?

The grocery store tips are interesting but in my country we don't have coupons and we only have a small number of supermarkets, so being super frugal doesn't always work. And I would never dumpster dive for food. If the supermarket found you doing that, they'd call the cops and you'd probably be prosecuted. Also, I think it's illegal in my country to sell expired food.

When you shop is also just as important as where you shop. The afternoon is when we mark down the fresh food that's still good for a second time, making the price at most half of what it originally sold for and the quality is still good. It's great when I have to buy myself dinner because I'm working late.

Although I never see the grocery stores near me sell expired food. they do have incredible ratail prices on damaged items, cereal bags that have been taken out of their brand box, scratch up boxed items like pasta, cans that are either dented on the side lost their labels or BOTH usualy go from a dime to a quarter

Whenever I go grocery shopping, I try and look out for deals where I can buy more than one item at a cheaper price, buy one get one free or two for a certain price
Also, I try and shop at certain thrift shops for clothes
I would bring them home and wash the clothes, ready for me to wear

Going to three stores is what my mom would do as I grew up. Problem is you spend the money in the form of gas to get there so it barely matters where you shop because you just spent money to get that cheaper thing Ata different store.

After being kinda influenced by this show I've tried a few things to save money on stuff, For instance I've walked to stores and if I want paper towels why not save money on them and go to the restrooms and grab a good hand full lol

#1 DO NOT get a credit card, the so called rewards are nothing compared to what you have to pay back to the bank.

With 4 kids to feed. 3 of them teenagers, these tips are as useful as a soup kitchen for the homeless.
