I'm fairly certain the girls apartment is the one the mom aka Tracy in HIMYM lived on with Cindy. And they have this wooden pineapple on the wall in the kitchen, which would appear to me a mid to The Pineapple Incident.
Hoping to see the GNB building Ted designed at a point. Obviously, the original HIMYM cast or some of them making a cameo would be incredible!
Would love that. Also Rangit could show up, driving a cab. Hell, what if the original cast showed up as they double gangers? SO many possibilities. They could litteraly play a Robin Sparkles song in the background.

I've not yet watched this show, because despite looking appealing, I hated the end of HIMYM with using the mother as a placeholder and killed off for Robin and Ted to be together and the trashing of Robin and Barney's marriage, undoing lots of character development. But seeing them focusing on the old mother (Kim Cattrall) instead of the kid, it makes me hopeful they won't plan the series finale in season 2 to accommodate the kid's age. So hopefully this won't get the same crappy ending HIMYM did.

I didnt like himyf because its not relatable. Theres no struggle. Im in my 20s Im a teacher, but my friends dont own bars, or are surgeons, meeting extremely rich guys over seas and etc. At least in himym the most unrealistic job was Barneys and even that made sense in the end. I got to feel the job career stuggle in himym, exams and not working. It was more real. Plus these characters have no chemistry.

I totally love the references. I love that even the burn on the wall where Ted and marchels swords are. I feel like Sophie apartment was Ted's wife's place. The apartment looks very familiar to it. I'm wondering if jessies bar is Maclarens bar. But didn't ted say Carl was still working there with his son. I do hope we get to see the old crew at the bar and could be shocked that its all changed now

The fact that they are trying to rely on nostalgia for this show less than a decade after the first one ended shows they aren't confident in the script. If they had called it something else and not tried to set it up to basically follow the same formula it may not get as much criticism. Saying that so far the characters seem bland and are trying to force situations and personality traits.

I hope it does well. So far, it's kind of meh but has some nice moments, just not as funny.
If they got similar show runners and writers, I'm sure it'll pick up as the characters are barely developing.
I'll take a spinoff over no show at all. Miss HIMYM, and if this is kind of close to thar humor, then I'll watch. I like Hilary Duff also, so it was nice seeing her again.

love the show so far! it found the perfect balance between being completely original but recognisable as a spin off at the same time. cant wait to see when are they going to put McLarens back up and running again. It definitely still exist as we have seen snippets from HIMYM that took place in like 2030! Also cant wait for her to realise she needs to be with jesse!

I loved that they were Ted and Marshall's apartment, definitely needed that to make it more closer to the original. But y would Marshall leave the swords, maybe he saw that two guys were getting the apartment and he wanted to pass them onto them, that sounds like Marshall, I hope he cried and gave a speech about manhood and brotherhood while passing them to them

I really like this show so far. I'm going to throw out a theory I have about the potential father: I'm not sure who the father is at this point, but I feel like something is going to happen where Ian comes back to the states or Sophie goes to Australia and they end up getting together. At least, this is what I want to happen.

Idk if I wanna watch it. How I met your mother was so iconic and i dont think theyll be able to recreate the magic of that show. A lot of times spin off shows end up being super cheesy bc theyre trying to recreate stuff from the original. I might just end up rewatching HIMYM if I feel the want to watch it

Several episodes in I still haven't laughed. Even if I'm not comparing it to the original it's still not a good show. Truth be told nostalgia for the original is the only thing keeping me watching. Jokes are flat and they keep pushing some pop culture things that will just make it dated in a year or two.

Season one was honestly not even close to how I met your mother in terms of being legendary. I like season two abit better so far. Hope they bring back some original cast members. And don't just use them for views and in afew scenes. Because that can be a huge game changer for the show.

I feel the reason they showed the mom instead of the kids is because you will know who's the father is if the kid is black or white. Plus it leaves room to change things up. We don't want another ending like the original. I love HIMYM, but the ending ruined the show for me

I would also like the idea that Sophie or the Father connected in some way one of the any Himym character. Like the Father is son of someone who attended in Himym obviously not the main cast they are too young for that but some other older character

The references were cool, but sadly, it's not nearly as funny as HIMYM, so far at least. I've only laughed two times in the first two episodes, both on the second one. I really wanted to like it but I'm disappointed, hope it gets better

I know the swords are there as an easter egg and they said they were left by a couple but in HIMYM the swords are with Ted in the future. they're in his house next to the front door.
