I dislike sequels unless it continues telling a story or tells a different story. Movies like the fast and the Furious, hangover trilogy, or the Blair witch movies are just retelling their story and it becomes repetitive and predictable. Which is why superhero movies are so successful. They tell the story of a different villain in every installment thus keeping the franchise fresh.

Someone great was great. It might necessarily need a sequel since it talks about going through a breakup and healing from it. But it would be nice to see a sequel about what happens after she did choose to peruse her dream instead of the man she loves/ed. It also doesnt hurt to see more scenes of the girls friendship.

The Half of It definitely needs a sequel. It left it somewhat unfinished and in the movie they spoke of seeing each other again. I think Eliie and Aster deserve a happy ending. And if they are already planning to make a third kissing booth with a cringy plot, they can make a second the half of it

While it's true that we all wonder what happens after the ending of The Half Of It, I feel like a sequel could never live up to the original and it will always be compared to the first one. It will never be as good and people will ultimately resent the sequel for it.

Any movie that showcases San Francisco Bay Area (my home for just under 30 years) will be a fave. BUT Always be My Maybe was a hoot and one of the best movies of the last few years for me; and other than 90s Meg Ryan-led RomComs, I generally eschew that genre'!

Dumplin was amazing and I would love a sequel but, it is not needed. The second I finished The Half of It I was angry! It was so good I didnt want it to end. I NEED a sequel. Always be my Maybe, same as Dumplin. Would love a sequel but the movie ended perfectly.

But, like, do they though? These kinds of really good movies have so much potential to be ruined with a sequel and nobody wants that. I've seen several of these and the thought of a sequel for any of them makes me nervous.

Anyone else think all of these would be terrible ideas? Not because the movies aren't good but because they were so good and told perfectly contained stories that a sequel isn't necessary?

I love OKJA, It helps my animal loving heart when they live together in the end. I NEED TO KNOW what happens with Ellie in The Half Of It. Klaus is my all time favorite Christmas movie.

They should make movie sequel's after they un-cancel all the LGBTQ+ series that they cancelled, plus the Noah Centi-mayo movies are all getting boring and old. (Thats just my opinion)
