Its funny, its not even such a remarkable movie. However when it came to cinema's at that time they had done a huuuuuuge amount of advertising/promotion/sales etc. etc. You could buy just about anything with some images from Grease on it Stickers, buttons, mugs. So when I went to watch it I did not even know what the movie was about, and a lot of other kids too. It was just so extremely hyped that you only wanted to watch it.

These are interesting facts but they didn't ruin anything for me. I still love the movie and would watch it again. I ended up doing the musical Grease playing Marty and it was a dream come true for me. I wanted a lead in this musical so badly after seeing the movie and when I landed this role, I was thrilled. It was a great experience. I'll never get tired of the music from this show.

Most characters in movies are always older than the parts they play. Way back to Debbie Reynolds in Tammy, but it never hurts the movie as long as they aren't talking decades difference. And a wig should have been worn instead of coloring her hair, & Jeff Conway, you did the movie proud rip.

None of these facts can ruin mi childhood which took place in the late forties and fifties of last Century. I was never so naive as to believe a motion picture. Or to try to live like any of the characters in it. It is just to entertain and have fun watching, not to be taken seriously.

Critics are not perfect people either! Always trying to find something wrong -- really? So which side of the fence are they on? God sees our heart not our performances - like the world does. I LOVED GREASE -- rock n roll and silly mistakes and oh yeah --- FUN!

I think that I have to be the only person in the world that doesn't like this movie. I saw the original Broadway play twice. The play captured the real feel of the 50's. The movie didn't

That is no surprise they were older than teens. That was the way for most movies. Movies of Romeo and Juliet from before the 1960's movie used people considerably older than teens.

I remembered when I was a teen and saw the movie for the first time. The first thing came to my mind is that characters looked way too old to be in high school. and I was right!

I always knew the cast was a lot older than high schoolers. But Cha Cha, seriously, she could pass for 40! She died in 2011 at the age of 63, which means she was 33 in 1978

If anyone looked too old for the movie it must have been Chacha. When I watched this film as a kid I thought, what is this woman doing at this high school?
