One thing I really DON'T like about POSE is its lack of dark-skinned trans women. I usually don't like to make a big deal out of light/dark skin, but POSE made it so blatant that it was just irritating. The only dark-skinned trans women I noticed were Candy and Elektra. But of course, Candy died, so there's only Elektra. But every other prominent trans woman (and even among the recurring/background characters) was light-skinned. I just thought a show that was displaying both Black & Latino lgbt characters would know better than that. But of course, it was directed by a white guy, so go figure.

I dont understand the purpose of this video. This was a TV show. The writers had license to alter an edit events as they pleased. They wrote the story. I think its unfair for someone outside the community to determine whether or not Ryan Reynolds and their wonderful cast got things right or wrong. I find it rather presumptive! Not a fan of the video. If it was a true story, it wouldve been called a documentary.

This feels like clickbait where did anyone ever get the idea that pose was meant to be an exact replica? If we wanted an exact replica we would just watch Paris is burning again it was inspired by and they were paying homage to but never ever did they attempt to duplicate and whoever video this is knew exactly what they were doing Helen Keller wouldn't know this is clickbait

i hate when u hets try to push boundaries. stay in your own lane cause the show wasnt to be factual it was to tell stories of ppl and show the story of ballroom and all its love in ballroom. everyone who watched the show and actually knew what was going on, knows that 9. 5/10 of the scenes WERE real and the other. 5 was edited for tv. stay in your lane.

They missed the part where Elektra had that trick die and dr orlando put him in a suitcase and it was stashed in a closet. There was a story of a drag queen who died and when they were cleaning out her belongings they opened her closet which smelled and opened up a suitcase to find a corpse. It was assumed it was either a fan or trick gone bad.

In other words, they got it pretty much all right. Which is what i would have expected. No, it's not technically a documentary in that the actual people are fictional, but the whole point of the series was to show what that world was like, so of course it matters whether they got it right or wrong.

I loved Pose. As it has come to an end I already miss it. I appreciate the storylines that were based on true events: Venus Estravaganza's murder & Candy's murder. The mummified body in Electra's closet. I wish there was more focus on each element of vogue and vast categories of the ballroom.

I really liked Pose but it went down hill after the first season. There was so much more they could have done with the show and it could have lasted longer. After the first season it started to be wack and badly written. The actors did a great job though.

Candy's death was very similar to what really happened to Venus Extravaganza. Venus was also not heard from or seen for days until somebody found her in a motel room dead. She had been dead at least 4 days before somebody found her, a her case is still cold.

Pose is like the Black and Latin Angels in America. But I recommend people to watch pair is burning documentary before beng watching pose, so that you can put the pieces together on whom the pose characters are based on and where the storyline goes to.

Michael Jackson admitted he did not invent the moonwalk. As a matter of fact it goes back to the 40s! Madonna stole Voguing from BLACK Gay Ball Culture and kept on steppin! I for one have never forgiven her for it and never will.

don't know how I feel about white people trying to discuss the history of the most disinvited minorities of LGBTQ people and try to tell a show that has ACTUAL ballroom legends what is factually right/wrong? must be crack
reply

True fact: I was arrested outside St. Pats that day. I was laying down in the middle of the street blocking traffic, along with hundreds of other protesters. It was one of the proudest moments of my life!
reply

You are in no position to make this video. The house of Evangelista was paying Homage to a real house not based on one. This is not your lane please leave black LGBT culture alone this whole video is trash
reply

The last season of Pose sucked. I'm sorry. but you can tell the writers were rushing to end the series because most of the actors were already mentally checked out and focusing on other projects.
reply

I thought about the ball culture whenever Julia Sugarbaker went into one of her patented annihilations on Designing Women. A mention in the credits would have been nice. lol

i hate when colonizers try to black and brown -splain same gender loving culture to clueless colonizers. its a television show not a documentry. i guess you missed that class
reply

How about when Electra accidentally killed a guy and hide him in her closet! That was base on a real event when a body was found in a drag queen's closet after her death.
reply

I was expecting this to be kinda trashy but it was actually pretty cool. I disagree with branding the house names as incorrect though, this is fiction afterall
reply

Pose didn't get anything right or wrong. it's clear from the start that it's not based on true stories of icons, legends, and events but was inspired by them.
reply

Electra always reads the queer or women. Ive never seen her read to a man. So it irritates me a little. Feels like theres mysogeny here. Light me up please.
reply

Its sad that theres only 3 seasons. There could be a lot more done with the storyline, history and educating lgbtq+ to those who dont know much about it

Its amazing how AIDS was ignored for almost a decade while we got a corona vaccine in a single year. wonder why (sarcasm, its very obvious why)
reply

Preytell said he was going to have is boyfriend cremated after visit and realized his fate. yet he and Blanca went to that mass burial island?
reply

Since I think no one budgeted for copywrite infringement, the house names were fictional. BUT-- they could have at least called it Abbondanza.
reply

Not accurate when Ricki and his boyfriend went to work dancing on solid gold they where features on a 1990 episode but show stopped 1988.
reply

The made up names of the houses isn't something they got wrong, just creative licence and no different from the individual character names.
reply

This video is nothing but caucasians trying tell black queens how Ballroom should be done. Give me a break. Stay in your lane, please.
