I like to think of This is My Idea as being the song where you see them fall in love with each other without ever realizing it or wanting it to happen. It's why as a preteen she is chasing after him and will even later is said to be flirting with the castle guards. and why he is so bothered by her flirting with the castle guards. This is just my interpretation but would make the world of a difference for the rest of the movie if this is true.

Honestly I am not even religious but Disney showed their ass doing the Prince of Egypt. From the music to the biblical accuracies and the emotional delivery through out the entire film. Aladdin Arabian Nights should have been in also. An idk if its because of where i'm from in the country but every musical in Princess and the Frog makes me want to dance and go with it lol

Prince of Egypt truly deserved its spot. It was so impactful, my school history and English teachers teamed up to put it on for our section on ancient Egypt and discuss. The opening song they didn't pause at all. How much worse it had to have been for the people living in that time period. Not just in Egypt, but all over. Powerful stuff.

Glad to see you know what you're talking about. PoE has the greatest soundtrack of any animated movie of all-time, and I will fight anyone who says otherwise. Kind of annoyed Tarzan didn't make it but Shrek did. You want a soundtrack that didn't have to go THAT hard? Phil Collins for Tarzan is #1 on that list.

I disagree with Skrek on the list. The greatness of the other film music comes in part from the fact that its original to the movie.
10: 14 yes, yes to that. Soul stirring performance!
Ugh. I also disagree with The Lion King, as Disney pilfered authentic, original music from Solomon Linda.

Well I am surprised to see Real in Rio from Rio make this list at number 10 I would argue it should have been rated higher but regardless its always a good thing when this film gets any recognition as that film is CRIMINALLY underrated.

I think Phil Collins and Tarzan should have made the list, but happy to see it at least mentioned. The opening to Moses was absolutely incredible though, and definitely deserved number 1 imo.

Gotta throw in an honorable mention - Bryan Adams opening song in Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron is a gorgeous piece that brilliantly sets the stage and tone for the film

Me: what? How is Lion King No. 2? Nothing could possibly be better than the Lion Kings opening

Phil Collins was dedicated to the music of Tarzan enough that he sang every song in 5 different languages for it.

Spirit's opening number Here I am by Bryan Adams should be at least an honorable mention. That is just such a sweeping song.

No 2 on this list is actually No 1. Let's not kid ourselves. We're not even bringing up the Broadway show.
