In the summer of 1994, I was visiting my parents at my childhood home. I was waiting in the driveway for my husband. I was sitting in the car with the door open and my legs swung out. My childhood dog was in the driveway with me and I was petting her. A van backed into the driveway, staying near the road. A heavy set, sloppy looking man left the van, opened the back doors, which were two cabinet style doors that each swung out in an opposite directions. The doors were agar but not wide open. He left the van motor running too. He approached me and said he was my neighbor from up the street. My dog, about 60 lb black Shepard type dog, started barking at him aggressively. He continued to tell me that his wife called and needed to be picked up from the hospital but he didn't have enough gas to get there. He wanted to know if I had some gas or if he could siphon some out of my car. I told him I didn't live here but we could go as my parents for help, thinking they would know their neighbor. He approached me in a very familiar way. The entire time, my dog didn't let up with the barking and aggression. She was not leashed. I turned my back to him, walked to the door, and he followed. Again my dog kept barking. My parents both came to the door and immediately started yelling and screaming at him and generally acting like crazy people, which I was shocked they would treat a neighbor that way. They were telling him to get the hell out of here, that they didn't know him, that he wasn't a neighbor, etc. It's a rural area. He left the porch, got in his van and drove off. After he left, my parents explained that this stranger had a visible erection. I didn't ask my parents to explain, so I am not sure the details because I did not notice this detail. Seeing Blackbird, and reading about Larry Hall, I am confident that I had a close call with him. He seemed calm. I totally believe he was a neighbor, although I thought the way he backed into the driveway and leaving the van running was weird. He seemed slopping and desevled, like he just rolled out of bed. I did call 911, but they were dismissive since nothing actually happened to me. This has forever haunted me! I live in northwest Indiana. I was 25, slender, alone. so I basically fit his MO.

The guard let him go i don't understand commentary like that: the guard had no authority to do anything other than question him: its not illegal to drive a van behind someone and unless his answer to the guards questions was yeah i was stalking those girls he cannot do anything. He didn't let him go: he obeyed the law. And if it wasn't the law any human being could put any other human being in prison at any time of any day: they'd just have to tell an authority that wasn't the police hey that person gave me the creeps when I turned around, make sure you don't LET HIM GO. it has nothing to do with and in no way corresponds with the police deciding he was a serial confessor and letting him go (there were other reasons for that as well but the Internets only about cool facts) but saying let him go to creat an emotional connection between the ideas thats the kind of subjective rubbish we're all about: YIPEEEEE.

Let me get this straigh. A mastermind who killed 39 women without leaving a shred of evidence first appears on the cops' radar by being caught for a rash or amateurish stalking? 6 times in 18 months. Makes no sense. Sounds like a wannabe more than a mastermind. Masterminds don't return to the scene of crimes but wannabes do

I never agree to sentenced a serial killers to death, it just to humanize for them, and we just doing a favor for giving them an easy way out. The best way to punish them is to let them rotten in jail till their death. And Never seen a sunlight for the rest of their life.

This show has the most awful witting Ive ever seen. The characters are so lame especially the detective. They portrays him to be the smart guy kinda trying to make him Rust and u can see the mindhunter influence on this. They did a poor job at imitating those shows.

In a sane world this evil wicked demon would of been executed along time ago. Unfortunately we have a failed justice system and crazy people who think murderers and rapists are precious human lives, while at the same time they support murdering innocent babies

As far as show blackbird. The main actor dude is a kick ass actor. Some of the other stuff is so tacky and just not needed. Overacting and just filler.
I am going to finish it but its more for the dude with the chops.
Id give it a 6. 7 4eps in.

just finished watching this show and honestly, I think one of the best docu series I've watched is this only. The way the actors portray the characters is just astonishing. But I think they could actually exceed the show a little bit

I just knew they blackwashed Beaumont when he came in looking like a kingpin in the show. Its a shame that its acceptable for real life people to have their merits taken from them in order to fill diversity quotas in TV.

Jessi Roach was my best friend in grade school and she moved away, but she called me a lot still. She had asked me to come and ride bikes with her the same week that she was murdered. I should have been there. I miss her

Wish it was not based on true events because the miniseries is so well done. Condolences to the victims and family. Producers should start a some kind of Victim Empowerment Charity.

for some reason, black bird reminded me more of true detective season 1 than mindhunter. there were a lot of scenes that went from the past, future and then present.

He directed him to the library and he said I appreciate that from a cool guy like you, and the guy wasn't suspicious? Wasn't that smart after all

If this show streamed on Netflix it wouldve been the most talked about thing ever. What a great show with exceptional performances.

I honestly thought the James character was made more Hollywood in the show and I'm happily surprised to learn that I was wrong.
