I'm already over it because they were filming The Seven Year Itch when she wore that now famous white dress. They were shooting a movie. It wasn't an award show. It wasn't a movie opening night or event. There weren't paparazzi there. They had to do like something insane, and insane number, like 28 shots just to get the shot just right and I'm pretty sure they had to be up all night shooting that scene. Everybody was probably tired and falling over and bored to death by the end of that part of filming. Then there's this scene with a bunch of photographers. Like, that's not even what happened.

Unpopular Opinion: As a fan of Marilyn Monroe, I actually enjoyed the movie. She wasn't a dumb blonde. She was beautiful, vibrant and traumatize. It showed another side of her life, no it wasn't the best aspects but it was the truth, no? It showed what she been through and why she was the way she was. It opens the door to give Monroe empathy from the audience that she didn't get when she was alive. The prettiest smile holds the darkest past. It was intriguing to get a sense of Marilyn Monroe's dark side. Even though it was fictional (They said it was fictional in the description )

Ana de Armas was selected because no other american actress who knows and probably adored Marilyn would accept portrait the way this movie did, Ana is a new comer in Hollywood taking any chance that the misogynistic Hollywood offers her, and people just clap because she is beautiful and Cuban, politically impossible to say anything bad about her, when obviously is an insult to Monroes memory. Just speaking facts. But it's going to take MORE than this crappy and LOOOOONG film to destroy her legacy, 60 years later and still is intact.

As traumatic as this film was, and whether or not these specific things are accurate, Im pretty certain she dealt w/ this kind of abuse of men all the time + disrespect & jealousy from women - im sure we didnt see even 1/2 of the abuse she endured because she thought she had to.
Like many women my age (50s) we grew up being constantly treated this way - you didnt need to be a movie star! But since she was Im sure this movie doesnt even come close to showing the amount of trauma this poor woman endured

Blonde is the worst trashing of a persons legacy of any movie Ive even seen. And all just to make a buck. Researchers have delved into some of the sordid scenes they have Monroe involved in in this film. No historical facts or personal accounts of Norma Jeans mother ever trying to drown her in a bathtub, no evidence of a three-some with two men and a subsequent abortion, or of the JFK bedroom scene. Everyone involved in making this abomination should be ashamed of themselves.

The film missed so much of her sparkle and great comic wit. It made her out to be a total victim. There is no one that will ever replace Monroe. Her particular background, looks and the time she was a star, can never be duplicated. The film left her with no dignity. She was a troubled soul but she left us with such amazing films. Her work lives on and sparkles still, after many years.

Hello-
much was made earlier this Summer when the film was rated NC-17. the film is 2hrs. 44mins. i just watched the first
hour and fifteen minutes and didn't see or hear anything I haven't seen in films rated R. so in the remaining 1 hr. 29mins.
there has to be something really and i mean REALLY GRAPHIC like actual porn to warrant an NC-17 rating.

I liked the movie and how beautifully all the emotional aspects were captured in the movie, although it was uncomfortable and sad to watch but it also reflected brutally what a women can go through in a man's world. Without parental love and care anyone would be lost specially in an industry like this where barely anyone can be trusted. May her soul RIP.

its obvious why the critics and a lot of these so called audience reactions dont like the movie. It graphically depicts the brutal nature of abortion and and life choices. When she made the quote, I killed my baby for this? after the premiere of her movie. It triggered a lot of leftist abortion lovers in the audience and the so called critics.

This movie was so well made! Full of symbolism about fame and womanhood through the life of one of the most beautiful women there ever was on Earth with everything it meant during the time she was alive and today still. Ana de Armas did an incredible impersonation of Marilyn Monroe! Brilliant movie!

So they couldve made a biopic that was true to the events and struggles that Monroe went through had they had the right script and director
What happened: A three hour sax solo that did not state prior to the movie starting it was fictionalized. Messed up fictionalized

There should be a disclaimer at the beginning of this move that it is NOT a biopic. It is a work of pure fiction and made up for dramatization. the only true fact in the movie is that Jane Russell was paid more for Gentlemen Prefer Blondes than MM, that is true.

Why would someone make a movie about a person and then not having it be truthfull? Then just make a movie about a fictional person.
I stopped the movie after half an hour when I realized it wasnt about Marilyn Monroe but about a woman with the same name.

It's a very ambiguous film. Very. I have extremely weird feeling after watching it. Its a decent work but I dont know I had some expectations after watching the trailer but movie itself was absolutely different from what I expected.

Almost the entire movie was a lie. There should be some kind of limits, guidelines, laws to prevent this. You cant tell fictional stories about real people because most people who dont know will take it as fact.

I did not like it and they destroyed her legacy. I am so upset all the nud rep the list goes on. I am more upset with this than kim in her dress. She did not need this bad movie to tell her story.

Well, its true that her father didnt contact her and he didnt contact her in the film as well. It was Cass who contacted. He says that in the letter that there was no tearful father at the end.

Blonde was boring and poorly made. However the camera angles and the way the movie was shot was great in my opinion. But the movie overall was not enjoyable, each scene was WAY too long

You did not get it, her father never tried to contact her. It was Charlie JR who wrote those letters. Because he knows that her father was an issue and import thing un her life.

Ppl dont realize that JCOs novel is a surrealist metaphor for the treatment of women, the book is stunning and the movie does great on that if you know its not a biopic

This disgusting movie obviously isn't a biopic, so many invented facts! Marilyn wasn't just anguish.
They created a bogus and distorted image of her.

In the end of the movie it is very clear that it was Cass writing the letters, as the last letter read: there never was a tearful father.

I will say Ana de Armas was great as Norma Jean/Marilyn, but it seemed like half the scenes were excuses to get Ana de Armas naked.
