What's a biopic without an epic soundtrack? For this list, well be looking at the greatest tracks that score some of our favorite films. If we missed any bangers

I don't use to dislike a video, but the absence of Bohemian Rhapsody in the list (any position would have been respectable) deserves it. The video is well done, the narration also, but you can't ever omit Bohemian Rhapsody. This biopic's soundtrack has the music of the most influential rock band of History. I know homophobic people who loves Queen. I am talking about that level of influential.

You included Rocketman but left out Bohemian Rhapsody. how fuking dumb (to say the least) is that?
Also, I think the honorable mentions shouldve included The Greatest Showman - while not depicting the life of a music star, the movie is still a biopic (of Phineas T. Barnum. and has a soundtrack that remained in the upper part of all charts for literally years.

Really no mention of the Oscar winning The Buddy Holly Story? The songs were pure rock n roll classics, not to mention they were sung live in the movie. It single handedly made me a huge fan of Buddy Holly. Also I wouldn't put Selena in the honourable mentions, it should be top 10. Surprised Bohemian Rhapsody isn't here too.

Even Elton is an icon i prefer the music from the movie, Taron really exceed any expectations and i'm still upset that he was snubbed at the oscars.
Also for Elvis, Austin should have sing all the sountrack i was so impressed by his versions of trouble & baby let's play house. he really deserves all the awards next year

Did not know Selena has a Biopic. I love her and its sad she died before my time. I grew up with her music thanks to my parents and their friends. My childhood was diverse with friends from all over Latin America. She definitely made a big mark even after her passing. Its a tragic story too.

Dang like yall chose some weird ish. Like wheres whats love got to do with it or bohemian rhapsody or respect Or notorious or all eyez on me or the temptations or the new edition story or the tlc story. like sometimes yall should really consider doing top 20s on certain lists
reply

Rocketman is easily my favorite biopic and I think that Taron should've gotten an Oscar nom. Especially since Rami did.
And honestly, not the biggest fan of Elvis or its soundtrack. I think Austin did an amazing job, but the film was only okay. Not great.

Walk the Line is my favorite but The Doors should have gotten on this list simply because Val Kilmer sang so well as Jim Morrison that even the surviving members couldn't tell Val apart from Jim. That entire soundtrack is perfect for any fan of The Doors.

I could not disagree more about Lady Sings the Blues. Will listen to Billie Holliday for hours. Diana Ross, not at all. How did you pick the soundtracks? You missed so many good ones: Purple Rain; The Sound of Music; Bohemian Rhapsody.
reply

Well considering both Joaquin and Tarron were hand-picked by the artists themselves. Cash watched The Gladiator and saw Phoenix's performance, while Elton listened to Tarron on the Sing soundtrack AND worked on the Rocketman movie.
reply

I know they aren't a 'real band', but how about Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band? The Bee Gees, Peter Frampton, Aerosmith and Earth, Wind & Fire all appear in the movie and on the soundtrack, singing Beatles songs.
reply

You have seriously dropped the ball on this one. How in the world can you have a list like this and not even consider Bohemian Rhapsody, Purple Rain, What's Love Got To Do With It, Get On Up, or I'm Not There?
reply

Rocketman is to date my favourite biopic, since it does something no with the formula of a troubled musician rising to fame and fortune. The songs really suit the scenes they're chosen for, particularly Honky Cat.
reply

OMG. No Purple Rain? They got 2 Grammys(I think, got an Oscar 4 the music, had the #1 album, single, AND movie simultaneously, #1 album 4 24 str8 weeks-YET NOT ON THIS LIST(LET ALONE #1. JUST WOW.
reply

Seriously? Missing Bohemian Rhapsody and Purple Rain is a slap in the face, they are 2 of the best out there. Now Purple Rain is more fictionalized so I understand that one maybe but not BR
reply

Ok ok I love these. Mojo count downs. I feel Elvis should be #1 or in the count down. But 7td ok they a lot of great picks. But still with Elvis movie it was a song along. Just like the dirt.

Selena reminds me of my childhood.
Where was Bohemian rhapsody?
Still, Miss Diana Ross is due her flowers. Beautiful interpretation of Billie Holiday

reply

Wheres De-Lovely? Cole Porters songs are so great and I really enjoyed how they weaved them along the story and used different singers for each one.
reply

I think Rocketman should be higher on the list but that could be my Taron Egerton bias coming through! I love that movie and the soundtrack is amazing.
reply

Worried About The Boy has one of the best soundtracks ever Selena and la Bamba are my second and 3rd but I could go on forever with soundtracks
reply

#8 Gary Oldman, who played Sid Vicious, actually sang on the three song that Sid Vicious sings in the movie and performs on the CD.
reply

130: I love Respect, Bohemian Rhapsody and RocketMan. Its not just the actors that plays the iconic role but I love it how they sell it
reply

No mention of Princes Purple Rain? even though it is semi autobiographical. One of the best if not the best soundtrack of all time
reply

Ricky was only 17 when he died in a plane crash. That is tragic.

reply

Bohemian Rhapsody is nowhere on this list and therefore makes it invalid. Sorry Mojo, I don't make the rules.
reply

Im very shocked that they did not include Bohemian Rhapsody. They couldve at least made it an honorable mention!
