I love Disney princess songs. I love pretty much all Disney music but the Princesses have certainly always had a special place in my heart. My personal favorites are:

8. This might seem a bit weird but the song Cinderella that the chorus sings at the beginning of the cartoon movie Cinderella

I think it is a shame that Love Will Find a Way from Lion King II Simba's Pride wasn't included (though five freaking Frozen songs were, not that I'm counting. It may be from a D2V sequel, but it's still a fantastic love song between Kovu and Kiara. Glad to see Anastasia getting some credit though. That movie was one of my all time favourites growing up, and one of the biggest reasons for that was the soundtrack, of which I have downloaded all of the songs onto my phone. Journey to the Past, Once Upon a December, (If I Can Learn to Do It) You Can Learn to Do It, In the Dark of the Night, The Key to Her Heart, Rumour in St. Petersburg. all of them earwormy hits that are just AWESOME to belt out.

My favorite I-want-song is probably Waiting on a Miracle because it feels so genuine. Mirabel just spits out all her emotions that no one else would care to hear. Not to mention how smoothly it transitions into her song. It comes at a moment when she is emotionally isolated. It works so well in the context of the movie and still manages to be super relatable to people with feel overshadowed or useless, for example.
And her I want song doesn’t even play out as intended for her! She thought she wanted a gift, but she really only wanted to make her family happy! It has you think that Mirabel will get a gift by the end of the movie; such a great subversion!

In my family, there’s lots of deep secrets and trauma and into the unknown and once upon a December makes me just want to know. Find out. Even if it traumatized, triggers or scars me for life. Song of the ancestors is also like that for me.

So glad to see A Whole New World as number 1! Aladdin was the first movie my husband and I watched together in the theater over 30 years ago as newly dating teenagers. That song has been with us ever since.
