Here's another piece of advice: bring in reference material for your artist to work off of. If you have an idea of what you want, spend some time looking through images of similar tattoos and gather a bunch of the ones you like. That way your artist will have a clearer idea of what you are looking for and will be able to take inspiration from the work you chose. Also, when you see the drafts of your tattoo, don't be afraid to speak up and ask for things to be changed if you aren't 100% satisfied. Any artist worth their salt is not going to be mad at you for asking for tweaks. This is going on YOUR body, after all.

I have 3 tatts. None of them have ever had to be touched up. My 1st one is 15yo & the other 2 are about 10yo. One thing that they didn't say is to always have the artist open the needles in front of you. Also, if the needles are reusable, make sure that they have the correct colored stripe on the autoclave bag that they're in & that the bag hasn't been damaged. Another thing. if you &/or your artist are getting tired. STOP. It's pretty much a non-issue to either take frequent brakes or just come back another day. Trust. it's better to have a delay than lousy work.

You also have to look up Tattoo artist and their work. Also, how much they charge if it's low no go. I rather spend more money on someone who has a portfolio of great proven work.
If your gonna get something in another language actually look up what the word looks like don't go on blind faith cause they could write Ass Cock in chinese and you wouldn't know it cause you went in blind.
I don't have tattoos due to my weak ass sense of pain. I've gone with friends and my brother and have seen the bad, the really good and the horribly ugly.

Here is a tip, for you're first tattoo don't get a lot of color and go for something small since if the pan starts to get to much and you have to take a break it's going to take longer to get the tattoo done. I personally had to only take breaks during two of my five tattoos and that was my first tattoo and then for my only colored tattoo.

You would think after Chemo and radiation treatment I wouldn't have issues with tatts but needles and pain make me think over and over again about getting one versus not. Just wondering I had a skin numbing cream for the chemo needle, Could I use that before getting a tat or does it mess up the skin? Just wondering out of pure curiousity.

Most important thing is to not tattoo another person's name on your body whom you're in a relationship with, especially if you and the person just started dating and haven't even made it a few years yet. That's a common mistake then they'll have to spend a lot of money to cover it up.

I got a tattoo about a month ago: ) In my tattooshop (in Belgium) they said I should wait at least a month before swimming: ) And the best season for getting a tattoo is more spring or fall, because in the winter you wear a lot of clothing, so that could irritate your healing tattoo: )

My parents don't want me to get one but I'm planning to get one when I'm in college or in my 20's. The thing I'm planning has a lot of meaning to me. And I've wanted for at lease 2 years but I'm not old enough yet and like I stated before my parents don't want me to have one.

Missing a number 6 entry. Choose wisely on tattoo artist and their own cleanliness.
Love my two dragon tattoos, got my first when I turned 18 ( I am 33 now) and have been reinked a couple of times, other tattoo is on my leg and proudly display it when I can

I found out I was gonna get my first tattoo, 30 minutes before going under the needle. Within those 30 minutes, I found out what I was gonna get and where I was gonna get it. To this date, I still love it, and regret nothing

Heh. My first tattoo was totally spontaneous and I don't regret it for a moment. My first is on the back of the neck, blue butterfly, my second says Serenity Dragon on my left ankle with daisies. Neither hurt that much.

Also make sure the tattoo artist does the style you want. It may not turn out the way you want if you want someone's face on you and your artists is only used to doing words and symbols.
Check their portfolio!

Here's a tip: Before getting a tattoo, hang it up on your bedroom wall or somewhere where you will see it everyday. After a year, see if you still want it. If you do, get it tattooed. If not, try a different one.

Sun and swimming should be avoided 3 months after getting it, as well as taking a bath. I have around 15 tattoos, not regretting one of it cause I chose them carefully and I have an awesome tattoo artist

One thing that I have noticed is that people who don't have a problem with getting tattoos have a problem with getting shots and vice versa. Personally, I prefer nature's tattoos aka scars!

I would say it felt like the edge(pointed part) of the blade kept carving me.
Barely on my second day of the second week of its healing process.
Kind of scary to see it peel off thoe.

I do have one question. What about people who live in very warm places like Florida? Our winters are still incredibly warm, so we don't need to wear sweaters. Any advice?

I'm going to get a tattoo. It's going to be the initials of those people who have influenced me. Like my friend who passed away and my great grandparents

Who has tattoos? If so, what was your first tattoo! And do your tattoos all have meaning or just for pure aesthetic reasons?

I don't know anyone who is tattooed that says tatted or inked
Have a feeling she doesn't have any or just a small one.

I mean, if your skin is sagging that much, then I don't think not having a tattoo would help. It's still sagging skin.

I've wished to have a tattoo. Now that I've seen this video and reading the comments about tips, I'll keep it in mind.

One thing they didn't say, watch word placement. Words bleed over time and can't be read if the print is too small.
