Visually it looks great, levels and gameplay seem virtually 1: 1 (if somewhat fine-tuned, but I can't help but spot little details that are just slightly off. A lot of it is in the animation, like some animations don't feel fluid enough or correctly-timed or _something_. Plus some small audio details - the TNT countdown was the most obvious. Of course, this is still in development, and these details are minor issues. Still excited to see how the final game turns out, and what this remake means for the future of Crash Bandicoot.

Oh wow, the New 'n' Tasty Abe remake disappointed me because of how cartoony it looked so my hopes weren't high for this. but I should have guessed it would be a different case for Crash since the game's already silly looking and not supposed to be creepy. I'm really impressed.
It basically feels like I'm revisiting the original again only it somehow hasn't aged at all. And that's perfect.

I like the fact you get the missed box counter on the end of the level as well as they sped up the but you missed boxes part. game looks amazing crash seems to perform the same and the sound design has been given a well needed make over from previous titles. the second it is avaliable for preorder just take my money
reply

This looks great but the sound is all wrong- that noise when you collect Wumpa fruits is tiny and lame and not nearly as satisfying as the original was. Which sounds like a tiny complaint, but it means a lot because the reason Crash was so great in the first place is because every action was so satisfying.

Looks amazing! Anyone else notice the vents open and close when the steam came out on the heavy machinery stage? I love those little details! Can't wait to see what alot of stages look like. I figured vicarious visions could do a good job since they made some GBA games that were similar to the originals

the person who played this has never played crash bandicoot before. one does not simply break the bouncy boxes. one bounces on them untill they break. plus he skipped sooo many mango apples. they're monsters. MONSTERS I TELLS YA!
reply

I have absolutely no nostalgia for the Crash Bandicoot series and from what I see here it's very run of the mill. Nothing very exciting going on in level design nor music.
reply

This is a full remake, not a remaster.
Remake: Rebuilding a game with a new graphics engine.
Remaster: Reusing the same engine and adding some visual polish.

Oh god, do Tawna and Brio bonus round crates actually count now? This game just got that much more challenging.
-Cough- fumbling in the dark -cough-

reply

Whoever was playing was trying to show off as much of the game as possible. Stop complaining about them not picking up the Wumpa fruit. Not apples.
reply

hey polygon, if you played the demo, is the crash 1 part as notorious as the ps1 classic, where if you died you lose your crate progress?
reply

I know this is just a quick play through, but damn it drives me crazy to see so many crates busted and fruit left behind, lol.
reply

strangely it looks just like i remember it looking. i know it looks crazy better but my brain somehow thinks it looked like this

90% comment here the Crash fans triggered for this player not collecting Wumpa Fruits.
10% comment are happy for a remakes

I hope this game gets difficulty modes: Easy; Normal; Hard and N-SANE (which would be full of nitros throughout the level)
reply

If this succeeds and isn't a bad game, the next Crash game should be an Action-Rpg with a style that fits the series.
reply

This is looking really good so far! Come to think of it, will we see new crash games being made after this?
reply

The fact that this is the only gameplay that breaks all the boxes makes me happy(at least in N Sanity Beach)
reply

I just know that there's going to be a Japanese version of this. and it's going to be published by Square Enix.
reply

I'd be cool if they had the PS1 startup thing at the start of this game. The nostalgia would be real then.
reply

My OCD cannot handle how haphazardly this level was played. ugh. PLEASE STOP SKIPPING THE FRUITS!
