8. Alfyn - This boy can do no wrong.
7. Olberic - Badass, speaks kinda swollen, but he's a knight so it's fine and also, he's basically Therion's disappointed dad.
6. H'aanit - The incorrect old english is sometimes annoying. but I keep forgetting she even exists.
5. Therion - Literally just a teenager. I love it.
4. Primrose - Even more of a try hard than Therion somehow, and like yeah, it's justified. But Therion is a tsundere, and Primrose is the type of loner character a beginner plays in DnD and who is disliked by the rest of the party because they don't know that the part where the loner warms up to the rest is actually important.
3. Ophelia - Squeaky and trying way to hard to be cute. I hate that she's so damn useful.
2. Cyrus - Cyrus is a dumbass, but I love him for it. He's my favorite, just because of the line about how he's doomed never to fully grasp how hot he is. He put all his stats into Intelligence and Charisma and is completeky screwed in all other areas of life.
1. Tressa - Annoying little girl. I genuinely don't see her appeal, outside of Transfer Rune + Sidestep being insanely overpowered.

1) Therion is that anime kid mainly because of his voice. Chris Niosi is an anime voice actor, and they gave this character a lot of edge for Niosi to work with. Although, TBH, his -I'll do it not because I want to- attitude is annoying. From his mission to courting Cordelia, he has that air about him. Also, he's a confirmed cosplayer.
2) I'm just playing Octopath Traveler again, and I only now I get how easier it was starting with him. Thieving and opening all the chests is great. I'm kicking myself over choosing Ophelia and going for Cyrus.

In my opinion the fact that therion is the most annoying i think is understandable but i still think he's the coolest of them all. Though the reason why i think its understandable that he's the most annoying isn't THAT but the fact he steals from people and logically when caught people get pissed off like cmon who WOULDN'T be pissed if someone was tryna pick-pocket them of their -lance of justice- or other side-quest related items that i thought would be special weapons that only specifc travelers could wield.

In my game, I started with Haanit and then got Primrose. I found out that there's a cool combo you can do with them from the start. Wait until you have three charges(forgot the name of those things) on Haanit. Then, have Primrose use lion dance on Haanit. On Haanit's turn, activate the three charges and use True Strike. This does TONS of damage and obliterates bosses in only a couple of attacks(if you break their shield first)

I started with the merchant (cant remember her name) then got olberic and primrose, both my party mambers are so much better than her and i had to give her the warrior secondary class to get any use, she is still only really used for PB trnspher and item usage though, with that pear move that ups priority so she can heal/buff the team (only 5. 5 hrs in btw dont bully)

My biggest recommendation is to pick out an ADC character first. The initial couple of dungeons can be brutal if your first characters are supports and it effects the pacing of the entire early game. Haanit or the buff warrior dude are your safest bets. I did my first two sessions with Tressa and Primrose and it was a slog.

Me with Therion for my main; like honestly it doesn't make sense that he'd agree to help others at all. If he decides he needs some back up for getting the chaos- I mean the dragon stones, that's his terms, not some stranger deciding to join him on a sensitive heist.

cyrus and therion might speak a lot, but their skills carry you in the early game, stealing items and learning weaknesses for free? super usefull (therion doesnt hit as hard as othermelee characters and he is kinda clunky in battle, but cyrus is the main powerhouse if you want AoE damage)

The thing the game lacked was interactions between Travelers, while there are banters, I feel that it's not really enough. It's especially annoying when you're playing through Therion's story, he talks like he's doing things alone when there's three other people accompanying him.

I'm currently playing this game and only using four characters and apparently I chose all of the most annoying characters. I also chose Cyrus first because I like the idea of a teacher just going around and picking up problem children along the way

Ironically, Therion is a character that I've heard is actually a suggested starter for story reasons: he's got that whole thing with really hating other people going on, and just letting the other travelers tag along on a heist is just. nah.

If you think this game is annoying you schould try Bravely Default 2. I just finished it. Octopath Traveler took me a whole year to finish it. This is the best rpg I've ever played. Nice dance moves Napealoin Dynamite!
