80s Pop Icons - Kim Wilde & Sandra

If European artists outside the UK wanted airtime on both TV (videos) and radio in North America they had to come out with an out of this world video to get any attention in order to obtain it. A good example of this was the Norwegian synth-pop band A-Ha with the song Take On Me which became hugely popular in North America because of the music video. Unfortunately for performers such as Sandra, CC Catch, Valerie Dore, Modern Talking and many European artists outside the UK the doors in North America were pretty well shut. And it stayed that way until the early 1990s.
Sandra did get limited success with the remake of Everlasting Love in 1987 where it hit #22 on The Billboard US Dance Chart. However in the 1980s the only place where you were able to listen to Sandras music was in the dance clubs where many of her extended dance songs were played.

Sandra, so unknown to America in the 80s but extremely popular in Europe & the USSR. I only became familiar with her about 10-11 years ago. I think as fans by now we know her husband was really the talent behind her music as she typically didn't even sing live 99% of the time (by his advice BTW. However, her looks seem to forgive all. In a controlled studio, her vocals were very good. I'm a fan anyway. On Kim, the total package is all I need to say.

I think Kim Wilde's voice is more natural and genuine. Sandra has a child voice in some of her songs and sometimes I am not very fond of her background music(it sounds too harsh as if a music device is out of order. Sandra is extremely beautiful instead. Kim Wilde is a beauty, too but Sandra is something rare. Sandra's movements on the stage are also great.

Kim Wilde went to the same Art Foundation course as me, a year before me, so she's a year older than me. Her real maiden surname was Smith, like her father Marty Wilde, who is a Reg like my late father, although my father used his middle name, as his first name.

Why are there no photos of Sandra and Samantha Fox together or Sandra and Kim Wilde since they have many concerts at the same time everywhere across the Europe Do they even know each other from the backstage or they avoid each other on purpose

2 of Kim's albums were never released in the US, so I had to buy them both as imports (both expensive. I had the worst luck with both. Somebody stole Select from me, and then a puppy ate my copy of Love Is. I'm thankful for Spotify.

Did anyone else notice the guy near the end of the beginning interview was picking his nose That was too funny Keep Me Hanging On was my favorite video of hers and I would sing this song at karaoke nights.

I grew up in the 80's, and listened to Pop music all the time, but I've never heard of Sandra or her songs. Nor does she look familiar to me. Is this from a country other than the United States
