Dog Found By Highway Sprints To His New Family Foster Diaries He looks lot like the puppy my son brought me last month. He came across this eight month old pitbull who was about to be thrown into a fight ring. He called and asked in a panic if I would take him. Of course I said yes since I always do. One of my rescues, who was a fight dog, died last summer at twelve years old. Ace is a little punk. He messes with my other dogs relentlessly looking for attention. He is the ultimate velcro dog. His best friend is my sons corgi who is a little younger than he is. She kicked his butt last night for being too rough. Picture a dog who is one quarter his size biting his ears, lol. My other pitbull and German shepherd think hes annoying but play with him all the time. This dog is no longer a foster. He is here for life. Anyone who likes that damn corgi is a keeper. I only ever take in three large dogs at a time that stay permanently. Ive never understood why people think a specific breed is awful. Its the person who is awful not the dog. Ace is likely to be over 100lbs. His paws are bigger than my German shepherds by quite a bit, and he is an 80lb adult. I hate people who dump pets. I find them in the park nearby all the time. Animals are not fashion accessories. If you choose to get a large breed puppy please realize that they will be much bigger, more expensive and a lot of work in the years to follow. I only take in the biggest ones since they are hard to place. I found a great Pyrenees a couple of years ago. Why the poor thing was in the city I dont know. We rehabbed him and found him a nice couple with a farm. His head was the biggest thing on him when we found him. He was less than half the weight he should have been.

I love the Dodo and all their inspirational videos of real people who are heroes to these beautiful beings. But I have to say - every once in awhile the Dodo presents a video that smacks slightly of a infomercial. There's a couple of guys who do beautiful work, but I hate to admit the slickness of the video, the studied script coming out of the participant - makes me wonder if it's an actor and this is a re-creation of an actual rescue. Now I know that's not the case here - and I trust the dodo. But I just had to say it because I would hate to feel weird about donating to a cause or individual. I guess what I'm trying to say was - this one dodo video seemed a little fake. I'm sorry to say that. But that's just how I was feeling about it. It was overproduced and not real enough.

It takes a very big heart to love a being which many many people consider to be a burden. Animal rescuers are someone I really really respect because they do it just out of plain love and humanity. People who abuse animals are psychopaths who deserve to be treated as criminals and be punished as the same. It’s easy to hate and hurt someone who one considers to be weaker than themselves but it takes a real human being and a real man to love them and give life and hope to someone who has lost it all and especially love dogs and animals and considering them as a living being and respecting what nature has created and also understanding that this world belongs to all and not just humans.

Look at that tail wag at a million miles per hour when he meets his new human family, that is a sign of a happy doggie. So glad Boomer found his forever home. The kindness of strangers never fails to amaze me when they help abandoned dogs that are in need of medical help and some TLC.

This guy saved his own dog, Ruby, who wasn't at all sure for a while. And then she had puppies that were so cute. He found homes for all of them, even the one who most resembled a potato as a newborn. He's just the best, and he keeps saving other dogs! Kudos!

Oh my gosh! I am so happy to see Ruby is doing amazing and well! The Rescue story of Ruby and her puppies is one of my favorites. She looks amazing! Boomer is just beautiful and I am sooo happy he recovered and found a loving forever home!

I agree its so hard to foster and a person who can foster is a special kind of person because qe all want to keep them right But I guess ya have to say well if I keep them then I won't be able to foster another.

I am so grateful for all these foster parents who take care of dogs, cats, and other creatures and help them transform. So much gratitude for these people who give these animals a chance to live and thrive.

Those assholes who left him for dead, didn’t know what they had, or what they lost. Boomer landed on his paws, and will be so much happier with his new family because he has been through so much suffering.

If you have hardwood floors and a dog you must get rugs. You’ll be sorry you didn’t.
Lovely story. Will be even better with RUGS. Not to mention the vet bills you’ll be spared.

This dude has helped alot of dogs, much respect to him and all the work he has put in. I love watching these forgotten dogs find new lives with people who value and love them.

So his eye was gone That's pretty sad. But I'm glad he found a good loving home. I love Pitties. Too bad I'm not in a position to take one in at this point.

This goes to prove, no matter what you've been through, if you wag your tail, live with enthusiasm and make people happy, there's a future in store.

So sad for your dog to loose his beloved brother, u should have kept him, your bond was great that can Not be broken
reply

You're a better person than me, I just couldn't have let him go. I would be a useless foster parent. Bless.

Foster parents of animals are God's gifts to this world -- they keep the light of unconditional Love shining.

There is a lot of love, heart and soul in those dogs eyes. I think animals are better than people

He's so beautiful i can almost smell him. Any dog lover knows exactly what im talking about!
reply

Reason i wouldn't foster animals is because once they're with me, they aint going to anyone else
reply

Love this baby. I hate humans. If you hurt an animal you will have no problem hurting a child.
reply

Too bad you gave it back. He was happy with you and your dog. Both dogs would be happy on

Thanks to The Dodo & foster parents for injecting positivity & hope & love into this harsh world.

I always hate it when it comes time for them to leave. I didnt notice, did his eye get well

I wish you wouldn’t blur the injuries, people should see what the reality looks like.

Oh yeah my final comment. Boomer. I love that name. So simple. I now leave you in peace.

Gently rubbing the ears and some soothing music work wonders to relax both dogs and cats.
