Buddy the beefalo ran loose around this Connecticut town for 8 months before people came together to help send him to a sanctuary. We talked to the police captain who spent all his free time searching for him. To help more animals like Buddy, you can check out Critter Creek Farm Sanctuary on Instagram: and Facebook: Love Animals

What an amazing community, I love how invested everyone involved was in Buddy's well-being. Wow! This is very telling of how much good there still is in this crazy world and how much feeling and emotion all living things are. Buddy's fear of humans is understandable. I kept clapping as I was watching his trip to the sanctuary. The best part is watching the officer tear up. He has such a good heart. I mean, how can't he He's a loving husband with a live for animals (that ginger cutie on his lap. Such good people. Thanks for sharing this awesome story!

I would like to know how people think stealing animals from the owner with out buying it is ok if I guess that you all would not mind getting your car and stuff just rescued that beef you failed to return today is worth about 1500 dollars or you took food out of his families mouth. I raise my own beef, pork, chickens to eat because I will know what went in to it now let the hate on me begin

What good kind folks to spend so much time to help him. I can't even imagine what it was like for buddy at the slaughter house, wish we lived in a more humane world where these poor creatures would not have to suffer so much for human greed.

Who sees this and still eats 'meat' It's not meat, it's a being just like that! Affraid before being killed just in order to you satisfy the desire of a predator that can't actually hunt! What is a human with sole hands in front of an angry cow

911, we have a fugitive. He's about 5 feet tall and weighs 1, 000 pounds. And you CAN'T catch him! I'm so glad all of the folks committed their time and effort to provide Buddy with a great life in this sanctuary with his new family.

I grew up on a family farm that raised cattle for beef. It had a lot to do with why I've been a vegetarian for 40 years. This story is humans at their finest. Special thanks to Captain Ed

You can see how much people really care they just don't think of how and what their burgers are made from. Just watch a short documentary that's how you can help.

I had two reactions: Beefalo! and 8 months! This is incredible. Captain Benecchi is the man! There should be way more officers like him.
