No One Thought This Growling Pit Bull Would Make It Out Of The Shelter Faith = Restored For one thing! Theres no such thing as a Pit Bull! Its a term used by the English Gentleman that would bet on how many bulldogs it took to subdue a Bull that was held in a pit! These are American Staffordshire Terriers! A dog bred by the Irish in the Southern States of America in the late 1600s ie, America Staffordshire Terriers! A cross between the English Bulldog & Bull Terrier! But more square and athletic, Theyre loyal, fearless & protective dogs that only want to please you! But bad people create bad dogs! No what matter the breed! No such things as a bad dogs! Only bad dog owners! The first wild animal that was domesticated by Man almost 10, 000 years ago, was the Wolf! The only mammal besides ourselves that is right faced oriented! Because they have watched us for eons, thats what humans do! Glance to the right side of the faces of everyone we meet! They have even mutated their faces as puppies to appear, more like human babies, just so we will respond to them in a more human way! The more Ive learned about people in my 70s of living! The more I love Dogs!
And any Old Fool knows a dog needs a home to bury their bones! And Shelter from Pigs on the Wing! Dogs PF

A dog only bearing its front teeth, not showing any canines is a defensive gesture.
Its called submissive grin. Usually accompanied by defensive body language and often avoiding the gaze. Aggressive teeth baring shows all teeth, the fur is pushed up, the gaze is fixed, the dog stays stable and strong.
This
It's sign of fear and submission, not on a level of showing the belly and throat (that is absolute BC it basically shows the animal trust you with its life)
This and licking another dogs mouth is a hey. I don't want to start stress but please I don't feel safe
And clearly she wasn't aggressive, she was scared. That doesn't mean she could not have been a danger, but like.
Tbh American laws around animal protection are grotesque anyways.

This is a great story but here in LA we have and always do kill so many pitties in our city & county shelters. They are by far the most killed so of all places this sweet Sioux City pit found a rescue -in LA was one in a million. I hope nobody thinks LA is pit friendly. There is no ban but they are backyard bred, sadly over populated, owned by ppl who are not dedicated to be a forever home in any way and once abandoned at shelter have little hope to get out alive as they are competing with German SHEP’s, huskies, labs, every kind of dog. So am happy for her. She is a for sure miracle save

Many dogs have a completely different temperament when they are not in a shelter. They are scared, nervous, and overwhelmed. Imagine how many beautiful, loving dogs were destroyed before the pitbull restriction was overturned! No specific breed should be treated like that. Thank you for saving her and seeing her potential beneath her protection mode.

there are plenty of pitbulls wondering around skidrow in LA but dont try to pet one or u may lose your hand. one pitbull down there bit off the nose of a homeless woman and two other pitbulls down there were killing a homeless man and the cops shot them. such a loving and nice breed.

dogs just like any pet reflects the owner in their behaviour. what is so strange
wolfs the most dangerous animals alive or has it to do with Humans, yet again.
I have lived with Wild wolfs for the last 55 years, still alive and not one single attack, hmmmm wonder why

Ironic that organizations that call themselves shelters and pounds are murdering hundreds of thousands of dogs essentially for profits and their personal enjoyment. The corruption and rot goes all the way up to the USDA which funds these horrific organizations.

It still piss me off with all these putting animals down for no reason. You can 'take care' of pedophiles or murderers in a prison, yet you can't even let these innocent cutie creatures alive Something is so damn wrong with the system humans

I had nothing but pitbulls all my life and by far they are one of the best dogs I ever had it all in how you bring them up love them and they will love you back but I am glad to see things like this so others can see not to be afraid of them

Dodo, geobeats, people who work to remove the stigma from pitties are doing a wonderful job. They've taught me! So sad how the breed has been treated, but so great to see it turning around. Good people doing good works. Bless you.

I adopted my pittie from a kill shelter when she was 15 weeks old and the were going to kill her. She is the best and brightest pup I've ever had and I can't imagine life without her, she's 8 1/2 now.
Thanks for saving her.

I almost didn't finish the video because I thought she'd be euthanized at the vet's. So happy this baby girl could escape her cruel fate. Stories like these make me feel less cynical about the world and the mankind.

Thank you for looking past the teeth of a scared dog. I g Ave a female Pitt I rescued and she's my last child that's so loving and greets me at the door everyday afterwork with a stuffed toy and love.

I wouldn’t be able to be an owner of a pit bull since I’m not assertive enough, but I do know that those bans shouldn’t be around. Humans are the ones who need to know how to care for a dog.
reply

How can they just kill so many dogs it is not there fault, Dogs are traumatized when they get to a shelter all the barking new people put in a cage they are scared. Thank you for saving this dog
reply

Although I’m not fond of pitbulls. I was attacked by one when I was a kid. These dogs should have just been fixed and then adopted out. Better than being left in cages like usual.
reply

Sioux City suck for this. She wasn't bad, she was terrified, her whole demeanor changed once that cage door opened. It's not the breed's fault that the owners are horrible people.
reply

I’ve had dogs all my life. 6 mos. ago i rescued a pit bull. She is the sweetest thing! Smart, loyal and a love bomber. I highly recommend adopting these dogs.
reply

Imagine being such an ignorant government official to ban the adoption of certain dogs. We’re are allowing idiots into these public offices. It’s mind boggling.

I have had 4 pit bulls with small Chihuahua and they never hurt them its the way there raised my son has one till this day him and his wife. beautiful breed
reply

reply

We love pitties it’s the only dogs we have had! Best dogs ever! So loyal, loving, wanting to please, obedient. Now we have Anni and Libe. Our family!
reply

She may have just been acting that way behind a cage. She was stressed. Out of the cage she was a sweetheart. Pits usually are. They an are people pleasers.
reply

And that is why I love Dog Daddy. He saves dogs from being euthanized all over the world. Keep on Dog Daddy. My entire family loves you. Aloha!
reply

If you treat any living thing like they are not worthy of love and patience then they will act that way.
So glad you were able to rescue her.

reply

Dogs are NOT dangerous, the owners are! Pitties are one of the most affectionate dogs of all and I put them up there with Labradors and retrievers.
reply

When a dog rolls onto their back they are submitting themselves to the person standing there, it means the dog trusts you 100% and they feel safe
reply

Three years later and nothing has changed. except millions more pets have been abandoned and killed due to the continuing economic crisis.
reply

In my humble opinion dogs are not bad humans are the ones that are responsible for their reactions all they want is love Luke anyone
reply

Instead of banning dogs, they need to ban bad dog owners from owning dogs. It's the owner who shapes the behavior of the dog they own.

Pitbulls are one of the most loving dogs ever that love everyone. Like children, can't chose your parents/upbringing.
reply

Why, in the 2020s, are there still breed bans! IT'S THE OWNER. IT'S THE OWNER. IT'S THE OWNER! NOT THE BREED!
reply

3 years ago, I sure Sioux City has wised up and lifted the ban! It is never the dog it is the owner! Thanks

The treatment meted out to pit bulls in America is a dark stain of shame on that great nation.
