Guy Promises He's Not Going To Keep His Foster Dog. Foster Diaries I could never be a foster care giver for any dog. There is no way I could give them up. I am afraid that I fall way to much in love with them to ever be able to give them up. Any dog that comes into my home is staying. for good! Watching this guy sitting on the floor surrounded by dogs is my idea of heaven!
One time I found a stray. It was a sweet female Bassett Hound. We took her home and called the shelter. It was too late to bring her in, so she stayed the night. Unfortunately, we were leaving on an extended family trip that morning as well, which we did right from the Humane Society. We called several times from our vacation to check in on her, and we were THRILLED to learn that after only two or three days, her owners came to claim her. And it only took that long because we found her near our home, which was 20 miles from the shelter and they didnt think anyone would find her and take her that far.
However, if she was never claimed, when we got back from vacation, we already had plans to adopt her ourselves.

It's not the animal it's the person nine times out of 10 the animals pick up on the nastiness of the owner people that truly love their animals the animals feel that and even when you have to be the bad person giving the medicine trimming the nails cutting the hair are lightly scolding it doesn't matter to them because they know you love them when you have the attitude that these are part of your family it changes everything all my cats and dogs even my chickens and ducks and rabbits and my pig all know that I love them and that's what I get in return aloha from Hawaii

The guy from the AsherHouse is an Angel with regard to dogs. Hooch just hadn’t found his man’ or his pack (family. Dogs are great judges of character. Also you often find people will say things that are untrue about a dog just to get rid of them, potentially putting the dogs life at risk when it’s not necessarily. He may have already been abused by a man in the past or it can just be innate. My Labrador was scared of men for a while yet I’d had him from he was 8 weeks old & my son etc in the house & was totally adored by them.

We just had a similar situation with a black lab. Were told she is too hyper, cant be trusted around children, doesn't get along with other dogs. Turns out it was the previous owners not the dog. She is the greatest dog I have ever owned. Oh, and my one and two year old granddaughters, play, sleep, eat, and live with her 24/7. My yellow lab and dachshund get a long with her swimmingly. People lie all the time, mostly to themselves. Sad that the dogs are the ones that suffer.

I re-homed a dog with behavioural problems to wards men( am his owner and male )as both owners before me treated him with aggressive patterns and food aggression but with time and training and a lot of TLC he is the most loving crazy dog his name is Guinness and he's a Irish water spaniel x

I kinda knew you were going to keep Hooch, despite telling yourself, I’m not gonna keep him
Thank God most humans bring the BEST out in most animals.
Wishing you all the good fun you can possibly have with with foggy buddies.

Brutus just wanted somewhere to belong and where best than a house with other dogs I think his previous owners came up with a BS excuse to get rid of him because they didn't want him any longer. Glad to see he's found a happy, loving home.

I think I’d like to be reincarnated as a dog at Lee’s sanctuary. Some of those dogs come from the most terrible backgrounds, and they end up, moving in with Lee and they spend the rest of their lives in absolute bliss.

This is so awesome. It’s amazing to hear their perspective on this dog and yet to have a completely opposite experience with him.
I’d to take a golden in a similar situation. Thanks for sharing!

Had an Afghan years ago. She loved everyone that came to the house. except one guy. She would sit at the kitchen door and growl in the back of her throat, she knew he wasn’t a very nice man!
reply

I don't know why you would adopt such a aggressive dog. I have been around dogs all my life he is the most dangerous dog I have ever seen. What a great guy thanks for adopting Brutus.

More than likely the family lied so that shelter in order to make sure he was taken in a lot of shelters won’t take good dogs. only troubled ones for safety.

Hooch is an absolute darling! Best dog ever! I'm so glad his previous owners surrendered him to the shelter. Best thing they ever did for him.
reply

He's a big gentle giant how anyone could give up such a beautiful dog I don't no. To him and to all of use. Keep doing what use do
reply

The people were the problem. The people were aggressive and uncontrollable. 100% everything they said about the dog was about them.

I love your property Lee. Your beautiful furry babies have truly found Heaven on Earth. Thank you Lee. for all that you do.
reply

such a liar!
from 3: 01 i'm not keeping him
to 5: 32 he's our baby
the sweetest and cutest lies i've ever witness

reply

Makes you wonder what the family who gave him up were doing wrong. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that dog!
reply

Lee Asher, you are living my dream life. Saving all of the furbabies you can and giving them the love the deserve.
reply

I bet they never gave him belly rubs or told him he's a good boy. or showed him love. Just dump him at a shelter.
reply

Dog has intangible scents. They can tell if an individual is friendly or not. Something only they know
reply

Damn something shady with those previous owners this dog looks like the sweetest boy I’ve ever seen

I hope the people that surrendered him saw this video and realised the issue was them.
reply

Yeah, that note is a lie, can tell by the way it is worded. People suck so bad.
reply

Could have been kids he didn't like. Can't determine though because of no info.
reply

Looks to me they gave that excuse because they didn’t want him anymore. How sad
reply

He went to dog heaven right there with this Man who is an absolute Angel.
reply

He just didn't like where he was living, simple as that. Good job Lee!
