My Javi loved to ride on the tip of my SUP out on the lake. He would often jump off and swim back to shore on his own also. He won the photo contest at the veterinarian clinic with a picture of him riding it. People would ask in astonishment doesn't that cat know that cats hate water and I would reply nobody ever told him.

Super cute and smart cat. Cats hate water but But my worries are cats groomed himself so if he licks salted water on his hair, it’s not good
I don’t recommend a human try to train them what they love to dothis cat is just a special cat but over 99% cat is dreadful of water.

Put sunblock on his nose and ears or he will likely get skin cancer. My cat lost his ears and part of his nose to skin cancer from the tropical sun.
