we’re looking at films that are so disturbing that you might need someone along to keep you safe. Beware: some spoilers might be ahead. Our countdown includes movies The Grudge, Funny Games, The Babadook and more! Which movie had you hiding under your blanket My dad was hooked on the news. Forgot horror films. Hour after hour of all the ways people die multiple times a day. At dinner time, the news health report comes on. Great accompaniment to the main course; all the edible things that cause illness and death. Mom put her foot down to not allow news during dinner.

Kathy Bates is my hero! She was on Dr. Phil a year or so ago and I guess he’s a huge fan of hers so he asked her how she can act like a villain so well and she said that she watches his shows and takes notes of his guests-especially the ones that are worse than others. hahaha!
Green Room isn’t very horror-like but if no one hasn’t seen it omg YOU HAVE TO WATCH IT SOON! Holy hell! Sir Patrick Stewart is so good at the villain role and I NEVER thought I’d EVER say that! He’s another one of my heroes and I absolutely LOVE him but in this movie HE IS SO DAMN SAVAGE! Holy sht! Plus it has Anton Yelchin in it and my god we lost such a brilliant actor! Everything he touched was gold and this movie is the proof of that statement-it really sucks he lost his life because he was destined to be another great! RIP Anton Yelchin

I was walking home from work in Phoenix in 1984. Someday I drove, or biked, or walked. That day it was well over 100 as I walked past a theater that had Nightmare on Elm Street playing. Wanting to cool off and with no work tomorrow figured why not catch a movie
I was scared shitless! I had not heard about it whatsoever.
As I kid I went to a drive in with my family. Some Dracula flick. But I had to close my eyes and plug my ears I was so scared.
I almost did that again as a 21 year old guy when Freddie became real. A true classic.
Just like me

I guess I'm unusual in that horror movies don't really 'scare' me. I watch some for the eeriness. The Descent got to me because of how well they played up the claustrophobia. I appreciated the tension and realistic reactions in Carpenter's The Thing. The Ring was fun. Jaws was just a good movie period. I guess I look for suspense and atmosphere more than anything else in 'horror' movies. I'll gladly watch any of them alone.

I heard that the people who did Talk To Me took a huge pay cut because of the actress Sophie Wilde-no one heard of her so no one wanted to put up the big bucks but they all believed in her so much that they took that pay cut. hope those big wigs hate themselves now because that sht blew waaaaay back into their faces! She is amazing and ROCKED that roll!

From left to right in photo and how to avoid the problem:
1) Don’t watch VHS tapes (The Ring)
2) Do not be promiscuous (It Follows)
3) Don’t go in the woods with symbols (The Blair Witch Project)
You avoid these things, you’ll be OK.
Later I’ll watch this video in its entirety.
Maybe make a list hahaha

How is Insidious not on this list I was expecting it to be close to the top and then it doesn't even make the list at all That's crazy. It had some of the most brilliant and legitimately scary jump scares. Not arguing with the rest on this list as they're all deserving too, but Insidious was way scarier than most of these.

19: 25 the conjuring: seriously whoever made this list have you guys actually seen this movie Annabelle is only in the opening scene she’s not the antagonist for the whole movie. You’re saying the main family in the movie was haunted by the doll which isn’t true, it was Bathsheba haunting them

If Pheobe narrates the video, it's a video to watch until the end and then to watch it again.
The Night House is a movie I wouldn't recommend to watch alone. It was the first movie to scare me in a really long time, and it forced me to keep attention to my surroundings whenever I'm by myself

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is my top favorite horror film - perfectly shot and edited, no supernatural themes, near seamless blend of narrative and pseudo-documentary, and just intense and scary as hell! Completely blew my mind the first time I wanted it!

I could eat 2 big bowls of popcorn watching any gory horror movie istg. Like popcorn helps me through horror movies.
Also for Paranormal Activity can we all question why they sleep with the door open Like what kind of psychopaths do that!

I'm one of those lucky 80's kids that basically got to watch whatever I wanted. I'm pretty sure I was 6 the first time I saw The Shining. To this day, the Grady girls give me chills EVERY TIME! Thanks a lot Mom and Dad!
reply

If you stop and think about it, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre has very little blood in it, especially compared to other slasher films. The bloodiest part is when Grampa is trying to hit Sally in the head with the hammer.
reply

I watched them all alone. With lights off. If it creeps me out, I'll turn them back on. Movies that made me turn the lights on are:
1. Ju-on
2. Lake mungo
3. The medium
4. Kill list
5. The Wailing

In 1968, I saw Night of the Living Dead at the drive-in. Alone. Occasionally people would walk behind my car, in the darkness, presumably on their way to/from the concession stand. It became unnerving.

I watched the babadook with a big group of friends crackin jokes the whole time, and I was still lookin at the dark corners of my house before I went to bed. The whole movie just feels like a nightmare
reply

I was laughing through most of paranormal activity and blair witch, I just didn't find them scary at all. and whoever did the script for this episode mixed together the plots of the conjuring and annabelle.
reply

funny thing with chainsaw massacre there isnt any blood at all. not throughout the entire pic. maybe a little smattered on the wall, on clothing and a few feathers. but live geysers of blood nope.
reply

I dont know where you get your list from but the Texas chainsaw massacre is nt scary neither is hereditary paranormal activity and the Blair witch project I was falling asleep while watching it
reply

Back when my brother was going steady with his second girlfriend, they watched _The Blair Witch Project. _ That was a smart decision, as I don’t think either of them could do it alone.
