I just can't stop rewatching the scene where the pale lady is attacking Chuck. She's actually slow, but everytime Chuck sees another pale lady, she seems closer just as if Chuck was just standing there, staring at her, waiting for her to make him be gone. (Chuck is my favorite character. I feel like one of the upcoming horror films, such as the sequels to Scary Stories, Truth or Dare and Smile, I think either Scary Stories 2 or Smile 2 will beat Scary Stories 1. If Scary Stories 2 beats the original, it would be that, if not, definitely Smile 2 (But Joel is my favorite character. Before I found out that Scary Stories was actually my absolutely my favorite movie, I couldn't stop rewatching the scene where Bill was trying to save Dean from Pennywise in the glass-mirror maze

Great list! For Insidious I would have picked the scene where the mom is talking about the dream and she walks into Dalton's room and the monster is standing behind the chair and when she asked it What do you want it slowly points that long finger at the kid in the bed. OMG I'm getting chills just typing that LOL.

I think top three should be
3. Here's johnny A recognizable clip even if your not a horror movie fan
2. scream opening scenes truly great masterpiece
1. The alien chestburster it is a moment not only in horror movie history but movie history in general

Thirty spaces in this countdown is missing a good creepy one. The petite young Asian lady in audition, attacking her date came outta when she attacked him n a gory manner. He faced a fate undeserved from her. It was brutal, in my opinion.

I can watch any horror movie in its entirety except The Thing. It was cool watching a young hot Kurt Russell, but I always closed my eyes during the chest bursting and parasitic transformation scenes; it was overlying grotesque.

Every Insidious movie scared me. One of the best horror franchises that will give you definite jumpscares. Especially in the 3rd movie, the accident scene where she gets hit by the car after seeing the Demon with hospital mask

You could get a bunch of re-watched scenes out of Thirteen Ghosts. The lawyer getting cut in half lengthwise and then slowly sliding down the door. that was awesome. And not only because he was a lawyer.

This ain’t a rant per-say but no way should Saw’s ending be this low. Subjective of course but that ending scene still remains one of the best horror plot twists/scenes in the genres history.
reply

I think the opening scene of scream should be nr. 1. The entire opening scene is so good, it can serve as a stand-alone short movie of a girl being terrorized by a strange caller.
reply

Friday the 13th ending was not a nightmare. It really happened.
She even says then he’s still there.
Indeed he was still there as he takes her out in the sequel.

30 years ago I rented SCANNERS on VHS from the videostore and the tv headscan explosion scene was all wobbly and even losing color from having been rewinded so much
reply

That Exorcist III scene was just the best.
They play it up like something is going to happen, then it goes in too long and you realize it was a fake out, then SNIP!

Possession and Repulsion are the only movies on this list I haven't seen. Most of them I have watched multiple times. This is definitely a great list of films!

One of my favorite scenes comes from A nightmare on elm street 3 Dream Warrior's, when Freddy uses phillip as a puppet that ultimately leads to his death.

Imagine the more-or-less collective scream from audiences when they saw Carrie’s hand shoot out of her grave at the end of the 1976 _Carrie. _
reply

I would say the best re-watch scenes would be in Jaws when Christie starts swimming and the shark starts thrusting her back and forth
reply

I don’t know about you but I watch the basketball scene from Deadly Friend and the shovel scene from Psycho 2 over and over for its hilarity
reply

American werewolf in Paris is way better than American werewolf in London. An American werewolf beats American werewolf in London by a longshot.
