I understand the frustration that is felt when capitalism has taken hold of our nation. I don't think that things are that black or white. Starbucks is a huge company, but they don't just take the money they make and it goes to a guy in Seattle. Starbucks invests in their employees. They pay for their education, health insurance, retirement benefits, and offer tons of growth opportunities. They also provide jobs for farmers in developing countries where the coffee bean is harvested. Investing in those local communities and increasing work opportunities for those living in those countries. Starbucks tries their best to give back to the community. Even in my local community we, Starbucks employees, are encouraged to volunteer and help poorly funded schools, non-profit organizations, etc. I work for Starbucks and I was raised in a poor home where I didn't have my higher education paid for or my health insurance covered by my parents because they both do not make enough money to support me. Once I turned 18, I had to find a way to keep afloat. Starbucks has provided me and tons of other people opportunities and support that I would not find in another company. I am able to continue my higher education for free because of Starbucks. So when you make a purchase at Starbucks you are supporting an immense number of employees that rely on Starbucks' benefits to live a healthy, supported life. There are people struggling all around the world. Even people in developed countries. So, I think you should take a more in depth view at the pros and cons that each of these multinational corporations offer. Some don't take care of their employees much but there are others that do. I think that makes a difference.

So I take it then you don't take an income from advertising here on Youtube? If you're really upset about commercialism, poverty, inequality and so on, when you go home- organise your community against white supremacy, patriarchy, and capitalism and use that organisation to militantly oppose imperialism as best you can. Pay reparations where it is possible, be accountable and alter your organisation's oppressive behaviour where it is not. Go zero waste and eschew buying more crap you do not need, especially sweatshop made items. If you have to travel to remote parts of the world get an actual useful skill or practical training that can be used to improve the lives of people living in impoverished areas. Learn how to build a solid house, install water filters and wells, increase the insulation of a place. Showing pretty pictures and spouting hippy inspirational phrases doesn't do anything, it just smacks of poverty tourism. Action is all that counts.

you know, every time I watch this kind of videos, about leaving everything back e go, travel and experience the world, I feel strange. I feel my life lacking in something. the thought of leaving everything to find that richness that you expect to be in discovering the world. but then I stop and think of what I really want to achieve and what to know and discover about myself and my place, what my principles and ideas and thoughts about the world are. then, I realize my own life, as it is, is a huge gift and, wherever I could ever be, I will be always able to give back the love I've received. thank you, 'cause today you have reminded me to dive fully into my existence, to participate consciously in my own choices. that's just what I needed. a million thank you: )

I respect your right to do whatever you want and go where you will but why does it always have to be some less developed country somewhere far away? It's very rare to see youtube-vegan-yoga people to find a meaning in their own home. You could do good to the poor in your neigbourhood. You could learn about the history of your own home city. But I guess that you don't get as impressive pictures under a bridge wearing a hobo's coat and petting his dog. You get much more likes to your videos and pictures if you do yoga on a sandy beach or near some magical mountain than if you do yoga in your neighbourhood park. And this is not a personal attack against you two. It's just something that annoys me in this whole vegan-yoga-search who you really are scene.

In considering local coffee vs Starbucks I found no other coffee shop in town hires folks at full-time and does even half of what Starbucks does for their part-time LOCAL employees: full-time benefits, education assistance. Dont be foolish and disseminate the rumors everyone touts just because its the popular thing to do. Im gonna bet you that there are many Peruvian locals grateful for the work these corporations bring. I taught trade in China with strong opinions about the slave labor force when a local passionately squelched my prejudice saying because of these jobs people are doing better than ever. Theres always an alternative story.

Yesterday i saw a beautiful red/orange moth that was laying on her back in a pond. It had already started to rain a bit. I climbed under the fence. I saw that she still moved but couldnt turn herself. I grabed a small stick tthat was laying around. I couldnt reach the moth So I took off my right shoe and stepped in the cool mountain pond to reach out. She emediately grabbed the stick Upon inspection on shore I saw that her wings were damaged. I dont think that she made it but hopefully she had that warming feeling when some cares about you And she didnt had to die struggling in the water. Anyways just wanted to share. #CreateYourOwnSanctuary

I love this video You 2 are amazing & so inspiring I wholeheartedly agree Your message is so so important& needs to be heard. American's Capitalistic mindset is being introduced & even sometimes forced in other countries. I understand economic development, but things have gone terribly wrong. You're absolutely right to say that Starbucks & others don't give a F. They claim to wanna help poor underdeveloped countries, but in reality they have gread in their hearts & see Dollar signs. Capitalism is killing our planet & will eventually destroy us too. Thank you for you bring the good people you are Share the love

Thanks again for your positive and inspiring message. You really helped comfort me and made me feel less alone today. I am having a sad day and feel like I won't be happy again, which I know isn't actually true because just like you said, life is cycles and it is natural to be up and down. I am also travelling and living out of a bag and I find it SO hard most of the time, I just feel so ungrounded. But thanks again for sharing your journey with us and for reminding us all of such important themes that we all face.

It's so true. I love every word of this video. I am from India and I here there are so many indie dogs on street who are equally adorable and loving. But somehow people don't see that In them. I have seen in tourist places there dogs merely have anything to eat and vehicle ran oven them which no sign of regret. I too have a dream to start sanctuary one day. I I wish you luck, joy and endurance power for your future endeavors. Love from India
