Not to criticize, but people in the third world sometimes aren't able to have access to pet hospitals to get their pets neutered or treated coz of their own poor financial situation. It may be hard to imagine for people who come from a wealthy background, but it is not always the case that the people are evil and irresponsible, some people also just don't have the upper hand. It is not so okay to judge a situation that you don't know about and go on condemning them for being cruel. Yet I am sorry to see that you were saddened by your interpretation of the situation. It is not right to buy dogs and abandon them later as you grow tired of taking care them, but in poorer countries, people sometimes just bring street puppies home and raise them, when the dog is sick, they don't have any resources to treat the dog. Maybe that's the case, at least I hope. The judgment based on those assumptions doesn't make any good, especially when you yourselves look rather affected by it. It is all assumptions Look at those people who live in that shabby area, are you sure you are going to complain that DOGS are not having a good life? That sort of judgment can also sound so bluntly ignorant. Sometimes it is not anybody's fault. Like those people who don't wish to be born in poverty, some dogs are simply not so lucky too. Namaste

In Nepal people have personal/family/poverty problems that might overwhelmed them to be able to look after a dog/dogs. I spent 4 months in Nepal volunteering and living up in the mountains and also outskirts of Kathmandu. I totally see the street/stray dog problem as somthing to be addressed and I bless your actions. However, . I can also see how poverty/life hardships for the people of Nepal (ie, not having access to vet services/no money to nutter them, vaccinations etc) will have an impact on their way to be able to look after dogs as family. Bless your actions and I have personally experienced the death of stray animals on my travels so. well done for all your love/care for those in need Long term solution would have to involve solutions for the peoples of Nepal (+education) + less ignorance + more compassion xxx

I want to thank you for opening up this trecherous problem wide for the world to see and truly engage with. everyday i spend hours upon hours networking and raising funds for abandoned shelter pets, so they dont get killed. we only save a fraction. right here in southern california. how people can turn their backs on defenseless animals every day in the thousands truly says it loud and clear: we have lost compassion. or at the very least we allow ourselves to find excuses for why we cant do what you both did for this angel, who enveloped you with love and now is in peace. that you went the distance to give her a last chance. that you knew you tried everything and at the end were there with her during passage -Thank you Our world is bursting with cruelty ad you bring kindness into pure focus

There are so much pain and at the same time so much love in this video. I know that this little dog is in a better place now and you both were just like angels for it. The most people can't imagine or they won't to try to imagine to be in someone's place. But this scenes are so painful for me. but somehow in the last scene when you carry the dog to the forest i don't feel sorrow. i feel calmness because of you. because this little angel was not alone. i am full of emotions now. it's just like you gave love not only to the dog but also to me. stay strong and continue to give love and peace to the world. we need this

I'm bawling because I've been in this situations so many times when I was building houses in El Salvador. It's so heart breaking there because the people don't have enough food for themselves not alone to feed the animals. But the richer class just ignores the poverty with the people and the animals. We are humans capable of choice and of love to all things around us. I pray we awaken to cherish all the living creatures and to give thanks for what the earth supplies. You to are truly beautiful for reaching out with what you can. I hope your hearts heal and you continue to share your love with others.

So sad that this beautiful, friendly dog lost his home and ended up being neglected and dying. I wish all the best from the bottom of my heart to you and Starbuck. I am sure both of you and him as well as so many kind souls have all the Love, Compassion and Blessings from Heaven. I am sure Starbuck was very grateful for all the kindness and care you gave him and his soul will be happy in heaven. Really heartbreaking. And there are so many more. I wish too, that anyone would do his best to help all fellow beings. Much love to you, you are wonderful souls. THank you for being here and doing all that. Much love to you.

Its so sad because we have this problem right here in America. Although we are blessed to have more avenues and organizations to help it is still far too prevalent. During my time working in a rural SPCA i saw everything from puppies left in dumpsters, to cats that were used for target practice, to elderly animals dumped on our door overnight because a family outgrew it. We had no funding and not vet clinic in our building so we watched far too many animals lose their life never knowing love. We are all on this planet just trying to survive and have not yet realized the only way is to be kind to all living things.

As I'm sure you know, distemper is an incredibly difficult disease to be cured from. My own sweet puppy became infected from it, initially recovered (miraculously, but while his immune system was down he was infected with parvo virus and passed. Distemper is a terrible disease that it seems there wasn't any chance of saving Starbuck by how advanced it already was when you met him, but thank you for taking the initiative and doing what you could in the situation. Find comfort in the fact that you did all you could and you made him feel loved in the darkest moments of his short life.

We had a kitten my husband bottle fed after it was left by its mama in our yard. We kept him all 17 years of his life before we helped release him due to sickness as you did for the sweet baby dog. This touched my heart so much because our kitty was named Starbuck too. It made me feel more connected to you guys. Our kitty was a black and white tuxedo and got his name because we discovered him in a coffee can. We couldn't name him Max aka Maxwell House coffee cause that was our dogs name. he lived to be 20 btw. We love them as long as the time we are given with them, bless'ed be.

Our family had 2 dogs pass within a week this past week. The first was old and had a spreading infection after multiple attempts of removal. The other was a freak defect of the heart but only 7 months old. She passed away very quickly that there was nothing that could have been done. But these dogs had a home. They had many people dedicated to caring for them and mourning their loss. I think about Starbuck and how he could have died with practically no one. There are so many that do pass with no one by their side or to care and mourn. Thank you for being there for him.
