I LOVE that you explain. Because some of us have a little bit of experience and we know, empirically, what does the thing we want to achieve. But you explain to us WHY. So that it makes sense, now, that it does not work when we do it almost-but-not-quite the same.
As far as wishes if have. I am a huge fan of pinup style wet sets, which might be a bit far out of your wheelhouse. But I'd love your take on them. Your explanations (the on base, half base, off base was SUCH a lightbulb moment when it comes to wet sets, your suggestions for short/longer hair, your tricks to avoid frizz, your recommended tools, (okay maybe I just want to see you in polka dot pillow rollers. Sue me) and your opinion on how damaging it is. Who knows, perhaps this could be a cool collab!

I have just started to use Velcro rollers in the last few months and I never used a curling iron with them. I do have medium fine hair. I blow dry my hair and set it in the rollers while my hair is still hot from drying. Once all the rollers are in I blow my hair with the dryer on a low blow setting. I then let my hair cool while I do my makeup. When I take out the rollers it gives a volume straight look with the ends curled. I started to to this to save time and to try to use less heat on my hair, especially my ends that were braking from the iron use. I though this might help some people too.

Me: Who sleeps in velcro rollers! Beyond the daner of matting the hair is hella uncomfortable
Also me: I use them on wet hair in the morning(i get the lift and the look of a blowdry without heat) and fell asleep on it the otherday, luckily i use 3600 billion pins and two scarves to hold them in place and they prevented me from moving all over the place and i have super slippery hair
would not recomend I might want to buy those plasic ones with holes since i already have the sticks to keep them in place and i always work on wet hair anyway

I remember using velcro rollers about 20 years ago (I'm 42 now. And we used them to get curls without heat. My hair was shoulder length and I would put them in my damp hair and let them air dry for about 2 hours. I would do this at night, making my curls last about 2-3 days. My hair curled really well, as I do have natural wavy/curly hair. Just wondered what the benefit is to curling the hair while using a non heat method is? I don't have my rollers anymore, don't really miss them. But nice to see them making a comeback.

This was super interesting, but I was wondering if you d ever do a video on how to style hair for people who have androgenetic alopecia or other conditions that thin and miniaturise the hair? I ve lost half of my hair over the last 10 years and trying to figure out how to style my hair whilst treating it gently, and not damaging it further, and what the best products and stuff are is impossible and none of the hair stylists I ve tried seem to know what to suggest.

When using heat protectant, how long after it dries do you have for it to still adequately protect your hair from the heat? It takes me a long time to heat style my hair (or I get distracted ) and if I put it all over from the beginning it could be up to an hour before I hit the last section!

This was extremely helpful for me! Velcro rollers always got stuck in my hair and I never understood why everyone liked them. I received some with my Drybar hairdryer years ago and just never used them but will try again with this new information. Thanksssss!

Great video! The next time you do a video like this, could you show the different versions side by side at the end? I wasn't able to really see the difference between the two methods on AL's hair, and I was hoping for some side by side comparisons.
