Hello Adam long time since Ive visited your vids but the entire plastic vs wooden cutting board got my attention. Oh first of all you do have a very lovely wife as you stated in the beginning both in looks and character. Ok now the wood plastic thing. Neither will change the taste of what you are preparing however a good idea is to have 2. 2 of whatever material. Keep one for meat and the other for everything else. Target sells a pack of 4 different colored thin plastic sheet cutting boards that are wonderful for this. They do not last like traditional boards but they are so versatile, convenient and functional. I use a different color for different foods. Prob put you to sleep by now sorry. Great vids

Adam what are your thoughts on using MSG as a substitute for meat in vegetarian/vegan dishes? I am sure you are aware of the health benefits of a plant-based diet and I have tried to adopt this by switching to such a diet; however, I often find myself never feeling full if there is not a meat part of my dish. I soon found out that it is not the meat, it is the umami flavor that makes me full. So I tried to work off of this and am trying to incorporate umami, both natural from mushrooms and such and artificial from MSG, in my vegetarian dishes to make me feel full, and thus, successfully be able to eat vegan. I think this would make a good video talking about umami and MSG and the stigma against it.

Hi Adam, for the next video, it might be worth adding the question text at the bottom of the screen whilst you're answering. Or screenhot the comment for example and put that at the bottom. It lets you credit the person who asked (if you want to do that, and means people can refer back to the question wording whilst you're answering(EDIT: It also makes it easier to scrub through the video to find different answers if you can see the images at the bottom of the screen change. Even if they're only up for 30 seconds/1 minute)Love the video, can't wait for the next one

Does anyone have the time stamp for his answer to the cutting board question? I have a beautiful walnut cutting board that I use for everything including raw meat most of the time. I just wash it by hand with soap and water, dry it immediately, and apply mineral oil once every half dozen uses or so. I do however sometimes switch to a plastic one if I'm cutting a very large amount of raw chicken or something like that because I don't want it to sit on there for a long time and potentially wick into the wood.

3: 20Some perspective. It doesn't matter, you're making cooking videos which thousands watch. If we just assume you throw away everything you cook without taking a bite of it. That would be offset by you telling people not to waste food every once in a while. In essence that could be what this answer is even. edit: I realize how incredibly redundant this comment is in light of the rest of this video. I'm glad you've transcended the small scale view. But it didn't come across in that specific answer.

It's interesting how you think that living from pay check to pay check while being afraid of unexpected medical bills is how most people in the world live. Actually, that's a uniquely American thing. The rest of us has universal health care; ) We might also live from pay check to pay check, but nobody in a civilised country has to die, because he/she can't afford a medical bill. Except if you're American that is. Then good luck: )

With editing, I dont know your workflow at all but for speeding it up I would recommend the or premiere tutorial by Taran Van Hemert(yes you can watch it at 2x speed its really long. I would also recommend trying to split the editing up, maybe do different parts of the editing on different times and break it up by doing something else. Im no professional (teen here) but sounds reasonable to the computer nerd in me.

With what you were saying about wanting to trave, combined with your talking about restaurants earlier in the video, if you ever get a chance to come across the pond to europe, you'd love Lisbon. Everyone goes out to eat very late there, but all the restaurants are small family owned, cozy little places. I absolutely loved it, and theres things like Sintra Palace not too far away too

I get where you are coming from with not wanting to do food porn shots but I don't think it woll always be the best when you consciously avoid those If those are available there is absolutely nothing wrong with leaning into them for that moment when it's appropriate and if the shots would come off to aspirational just lampshade the whole thing and it woll come off as goofy relatable Adam.
