To add to what was said at 6: 20: I remember seeing a rather limited (n was pretty small) overfeeding study performed with predominantly fat and predominantly carbohydrate foods. If I remember correctly, overeating with the fat group was 2000 above TDEE and 8000 with the carbohydrate group. I understand reasoning has no place in a science so complex so disregard what follows if you want to be purely about the science. Farmers have been fattening pigs with carbohydrates for centuries, observing that the pigs tend to have more of an appetite after eating high carb meals than they did when eating traditional balanced feed. I mention the pig here because it is extraordinarily similar to humans in its general physiology, producing insulin through many of the same pathways. It is clear to me that carbohydrate has a place in human evolution due to seasonal vegetation gorging, but is hence also extremely disruptive in the mechanisms by which it is absorbed and metabolised. Insulin is an exceptionally powerful hormone that disrupts endocrine stability, and through chronic carbohydrate consumption, can damage the endocrine system (think of insulin resistance. But i shouldn't delve so deep into paleo bro science reasoning, would love to see future work be done on low carb diets and testosterone.

I'm not sure where I read this, so take this with a whole bolivian flat of salt, but wasn't the whole soy boy thing a misinterpretation of a studies conclusion? I think it was something like the estrogen in soy products (I don't remember the specific name of it) was a slightly different thing than the estrogen hormone, and while they were connected to each other, they weren't QUITE the same thing, kind of like the difference between the Mercury that's in fish or vaccines vs the Metal. Again, don't quote me on that. I remember it being a scholarly article that I came across while researching a completely different topic, but because I can't find it, that claim doesn't mean shit.

Phytoestrogens aren't going to make you female lol. But yes sensible vegans that don't follow weird fad diets do encourage people to eat more sources of plant protein than just soy if you can help it. And yes everybody has varying amounts of both testosterone and estrogen. While it is just another important part of our health I think the obsession is rooted in this unhealthy flavor of masculinity that everybody could be better off with less of in the world. Thanks for being a chill dude Adam.

Male testosterone is better to be high in than low. From what I've heard from people more educated, it has a high correlation with focus and a drive to be productive. And I'd argue its more about a ratio with estrogen and testosterone, if you have a good ratio of the two, you should be relatively healthy and active in life. What happens is you see the problems of estrogen like chemicals that can screw with your endocrine system, which kinda weighs down the benefit of a higher t level.

Why is that whole thing about soy and estrogen still in circulation? Soy contains phytoestrogens which behave completely differently than animal estrogens which is what people mean when they talk about estrogen. If you are worried about raising your estrogen levels, you should cut down on meat and dairy instead of soy. Then again if you haven't been told by a doctor that your estrogen levels are too high, there's no reason to start changing your diet in that regard.

The soyboy insult was meant for people who have no self-respect, and not for any considerate person. There was a point in the internet history when the Syolent diet was a huge thing, and many people who took it would also demean themselves out of respect for women and things like that, hoping the get attention. Of course like all slurs, it eventually became a common mean phrase without much meaning, just like cuck after it, and now we have SIMP on the rise.

6: 56 Regardless of the reservations I hold against polyunsaturated fat, I don't think something as carcinogenic as trans fat should be lumped in with it whilst saying everything in moderation. Trans fat as a result of chemical deodorisation and partial hydrogenation is indisputably carcinogenic and is perhaps the single greatest omnipresent carcinogen present in western diets.

Adam. The privacy risk presented by your sponsored ad are horrible. Even if they think they are in control, the risk is in my opinion too high to promote to an audience that will not think twice about the privacy issues because of the parasocial relationship at play. we know for a fact that such companies with real doctor sold their data or had their data stolen.
