This week on Shokunin, host David Bouhadana goes fishing. On a very cold and very early morning in January, he sets sail from Montauk with 3rd- and 4th-generation fishermen Captains Steven Forsberg Sr. and Steven Forsberg Jr. for an inside look at the hard work behind the seafood available in your local grocery store

I been fishing since I was a toddler. I'm 31 now. Every fisherman of that captains generation ALWAYS says back in the day fishing was much better. Yet people complain about stricter regulations. Even in the time I been cod fishing the big cod are so few compared to several years ago. You catch a 20 lber and that's a BIG fish these days.

How's do these guys make enough money to pay for that expensive boat/resources catching one fish at a time with a reel and rod? I love fishing, but I don't see how these guys can make it work.

well the regulations are in place, because of the fisherman, the sea got overfished for more then 100 years and now you have to pay the price

I like fishing and you are VERY thought provoking! I hate all the tolls but love to fish Montauk as well. tight lines and smooth seasAJ
