Illegal immigration does more harm than good. An influx of cheap labor reduces wages so you can kiss your quest for 15 good bye + a lot of times illegals work below minimum wage why pro illegal people think that's ok with their Who's going to work these jobs arguments is beyond me. Not only that there's a direct correlation between poverty and crime, illegals tend to work low wage jobs which means they end up in poor neighborhoods which means their kids start to hang around the wrong crowd who view easy money via crime as lucrative which means high crime rates & that doesn't include the gang members that cross into the U. S. illegally. The funny thing is Mexico has a stricter immigration policy than the U. S. they have an economy based immigration system as does Australia & Canada, what's more Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau views their immigration policy as Progressive but people demonize the U. S. for attempting to enact the same policies. The immigration system is suppose to keep crooks out and let sane people in, its suppose to prevent there from being more people than there are jobs to go around so immigrants don't end up in the ghetto slums, its suppose to keep out diseases residents aren't immune to, its suppose to keep out invasive plant and animal species. Pro illegal immigration people think with their feelings and not with rational or reason. No I'm not a white Supremacist, I'm a minority and my family migrated the U. S. legally from Fiji. My family did it by the book so should everyone else lest we turn into Tatooine.

Place looks amazing, if this was near me (and if they sold gorditas) I'd never stop coming lol. Like someone else said, beef tongue is a very underrated meat. But also very awesome to hear of another immigrant opening a shop turned restaurant to help supply fellow friends of their community very ethnic specific things, something similar to home, and broadening an outsider's perspective who walks in. I grew up near a Middle Eastern shop that supplied very specific Iranian things that my family couldn't find at regular chain stores (up until recently) that later opened into a restaurant too which later became an icon in helping diversify Houston. And it's funny that now their old space is being occupied by a Vietnamese family doing the same thing, selling Vietnamese groceries and delicious Vietnamese food.

I'm latin american. But I still find it strange when people emigrate illegally to countries with languages they have a hard time speaking. Before living abroad, I spent 7 years learning and perfecting English, then went through all the bureaucracy to be under the law. I get there, and there are tons of people who just sneaked in and stayed on the down-low. It's frustrating. At the same time, I understand why they would do it; running away from poverty and unemployment. But there's got to be a better way.

This man is a true American. Originally from a foreign land, come to make his dream come true, battling adversity and keeping his perseverance through any hardships. He managed to get citizenship, however, there are countless others just like him, who will be a boon to America, yet they are deported and turned away. It's too bad that on the surface it seems so simple, yet it's such a hard and divisive problem, fixing it will take too long, and more people like this man will suffer because of it.

Thank you, Eater, for giving a medium for stories like these. In light of mainstream media, it becomes inspiring and refreshing to be reminded of the success stories of immigrant works such as Leyva and his crew. Not many get to see this in person nor understand the history of their community members. Please continue to share this type of content. We don't have enough of it.

People like this and their stories of perseverance through adversity are what make America great. Diversity of culture and food enriches lives and now, more than ever, we as a people must recognize this and banish hate with acceptance and unity.

I love strip mall taco shops! You can place your order for Lengua, Cabeza, Tripas, Pastor, etc, go to 7-11, pick up your beer and a Snickers Extreme for dessert, head back to the taco shop and get some incredible food for incredible cheap!

Like he said, tongue (lengua) and head (cabeza) tacos are the best! Nothing better than going to the taco stands on a cold night and getting a fresh from the grill head taco with tons of cilantro and onion!

I already know this comment section will be on fire. But this video format and the storytelling was so interesting compared to all the host driven food travel vids.
