This is why the only videos people like from Eater is the Omakase series. The host of those videos are the chef themselves. I don't want to hear this disrespectful muppet being a loud mouth. I want to hear the story of the chef, what his thoughts are, what he feels about the food and so does everyone else. They're the star of the show. People want that incredible cinematography, with a simple but elegant story telling of the chef and the food. This video in itself is straight up disrespectful to food and the culture of it all. If you're going to have a host, have one that helps carry the flow of the chef's interview, and not someone who doesn't take more than 1 breath in between each of his words.

to the host: 1-dress appropriately for a kitchen for safety reasons, there are flames! your dangling attire can catch on fire 2-don't steal the camera from your guest by excessive gestures and erratic movements 3-you don't need to do all the talking please allow your guest to finish his sentences, he obviously knows what he is doing 4-overzeoulous admiration come across as fake 5-don't promise one thing in the title and don't deliver, it is a set up for disappointment. 6-obviously you have admirers if this gig is not working out move on before you lose them, peoples' opinion change quickly

I am not watching this because of the host. I managed to stay for 1 minute and 25 seconds, then went to read the comments and I absolutely agree with everyone. The chef is so nice and calm but I can't stand the dude shouting all over his talking, it is so disrespectful! I feel bad for the chef that he had to put up with him.

Hold up people. It seems everyone hates this Marcus guy. Eater, please speak with the presenter about trying to be cool and disrespecting the chef and the viewers. Give him another chance to see how he performs. Please don't just get rid of him like many people are asking for.

Marcus Samuellson is great, he allegedly paid a tax to Sybil's when he gentrified their neighborhood, and I think these comments are even more taxing to the ego of a dude who looks like he's the victim of some kind of an endless self-inflicted fashion hate crime.

Not impressed with this host. Extolling the virtues of a wok? Yeah dude, we get it. You're going to be blown away at a kitchenaid. Also, the title is clickbait. The video shows how the restaurant makes lobster, then they just eat duck. No mention of preparation.

Okay dude, sincere constructive advice. Tone it down a couple of notches. Tone down the enthusiasm. It's honestly irritating. This video could have been awesome. But a minute into it and I'm writing this comment instead of watching the video.

This guy tries too hard. Acts like he knows everything, man just be humble while doing an interview with a great chef. Let him shine, instead of trying to compete and steal his spotlight. Get a new host lol, this dudes ass

Marcus is as exciting and colorful as his wardrobe. His enthusiasm is for the chef and the food. not for the sound of his own voice. I find it fun. and, yes. sometimes over the top. but never disrespectful.
