[Cough cough] BBQ didn't start with black folks. It started with my ancestors who came from Germany. My Jewish family smoked meat to preserve it instead of salting it. They were in Texas cattle ranching. They taught my Mexican Apache family. But I am glad when I see white people buy black owned BBQ. I make Tex Mex BBQ with my Yiddish-Apache flare.

This place isn't that good. I ate their early this year during the NBA finals and had the brisket and link. Both of them was super dry and had no flavor to it. I had the Mac &cheese and it was just ok. Also had the beans which taste like it came from the can. Also small portion for the cost they need. Not worth it. An wouldn't go back.

My first taste of real BBQ (I grew up in No BBQ Central Valley Ca) was when my brother, who was attending school in SF, took me across the bay to Oakland to get some Flints BBQ. I was shocked. The beef links, chopped beef and that BBQ sauce. That was in the late 80s. Flints is long gone and today I wouldnt step foot in that town.

What if someone called just to ask if its White owned to determine if they will go. I don't understand why race has anything to do with anything. Shouldn't be that way. If you have good food people will come no matter what the race is. I don't judge people by race but by how hard they work and how they treat others.

I thank you for this wonderful video of Oakland Eats. that's what I called this video. Hahaha. I grew up in Oakland and was smitten by Flint's bbq. I no longer live there but I still have family there. I must go and visit this awesome place and tell others that I know there that might not know this place exists!

Nice! But as a Black Texan, Cherry wood isnt popular for meats! We ride with Post Oak, Hickory as the stables and then mesquite primarily! Our rubs are simple. 16-20 mesh black pepper and kosher salt! I definitely appreciate the sides that I saw!

That man and his brothers are role models for the Oakland community and aspiring entrepreneurs all over the world. Their mom seems like an amazing woman. My family will definitely stop by when we pass through. Food looks delicious. peace

Me and these people come from the same place. I was born in Louisiana and I was raised in Mississippi. I went to San Francisco to study culinary arts and now I have a BBQ Joint too. Very kool we have so much in common.

I buy the ribs but the mama Mac cheese is just terrible industrial cheese and overcooked inferior pasta. I get it's fat and rich but I think it's several steps below a slow cooked rib from a a healthy animal
