Scars does not make the best slice in NYC. I tried their pizza last year. Here's the big problem i had with it. They put on so much grated mozzarella cheese on the pie. That's that stuff you sprinkle on the pizza from the jar. The pizza tasted bitter cause of this. I would tell them don't put on grated mozzarella cheese on the pizza. My favorite pizza places. Patsy's in Harlem, Joe's on Carmine street. Amore Pizza in Flushing, SallyA pizza in New Haven CT

Unfortunately, the wheat in the U. S. is not as good as the wheat in Europe. The wheat in the U. S. has been genetically modified to stand long shelf-life. The wheat grain 100 years ago in the U. S. was much healthier and nutritional than today's wheat. Nevertheless, the pizzas look amazing and most likely taste delicious as well. Good work!

Y'all need to cut the noise, best slice in NYC? Not even close, suckers standing in line for hours getting played by the hype. Any fool can look awesome in a 7-min video, producing consistently quality product, every day is another story, if you get a good slice in this place it's luck more than skill.

So African Americans are appropriating Italian culture, that pizza looks so greasy, disgusting and nasty. That be like an Italian opening a restaurant only making African American foods but how long will that restaurant last, not long it be shut down and destroyed for appropriating Black Culture.

Honestly, once he said US wheat makes people fat and European wheat doesn't, he proved he's someone who believes anything he hears online. US wheat is NOT banned in Europe and the difference between obesity in the US and Europe is due to diet (sugar) and exercise along with portion size.

If I ever make it to New York, this guy's pizza place is the one I would eat at. You can tell he has a real passion for his craft - and he cares about his customers and his community. Plus, his pizzas look damn delicious! I wish him nothing but the best.

Organic carbs will make you just as fat. Just because you don't use pesticides and inorganic fertilizer doesn't magically change the chemical structure of a carbohydrate. Also, if you chain smoke like a european you won't eat as many organic carbs: )

I loved this. Scarr's focus, integrity and his innate ability to communicate his passion. Great production from the Eater as well, giving Scarr the space to explain in his own words and be his own advocate.

Any pizzaioli who can explain why his dough seems so tough/elastic compared to Neapolitan? Is it the relatively short fermentation, the oil, the high amount of yeast, or maybe the grind of the flour? Thanks.
