I thought I d done every conceivable combination of rice and chicken possible, including, but not limited to, chicken in rice, chicken on rice, chicken next to rice, and of course, chicken and rice soup. I d also done rice stuffed inside the cavity before, but for the first time ever, I was able to experience the magic that is chicken roasted with rice stuffed under the skin

Look at you, chef John, innovating like a pro. Great idea!
One problem I see with this, is you couldn't stuff enough rice into the chicken to last you the entire chicken. What I mean is that by the time you eat all the rice, you'll still have like half a chicken left, and then you're perpetuating the leftovers cycle. Started with leftover rice and ended with leftover chicken.

You just changed my traditional Thanksgiving bird! Usually we stuff a rice/wild rice/sausage stuffing inside the cavities. This bird is now going to have an additional layer of stuffing under the skin! Good job, Chef John.

Chef John, by watching your videos for years you've basically taught me how to cook. I cook for my family all the time and they love it. Thank you so much.

I have found that legs that are not tied together cook more along the lines of the breast so that the breast is not overcooked while the legs finish

We are having company next weekend and I was wondering what to make. Thank you Chef John for yet again saving my ass with a great idea!

Amazing Chef John, I'm going to make one this weekend with cilantro lime rice, that way I can use leftover chicken for tacos or burritos

. anytime you're gonna enhance breasts like this, we really do want them to look natural.
Are we still talking about the chicken?

I do the under-the-skin thing with herbs/olive oil/lemon slices, but didn't think of adding rice. Thanks, Chef John. Great idea!

When I cook chicken, I make a seasoning paste with a Knorr chicken cube, and serve it with a gravy made with the chicken juices.
