Learn how to make a Pecan Sour Cream Coffee Cake Recipe TexasRose50: Why am I always late for these videos? Oh well, I guess better late than never. I just made my first batch of this coffee cake. Oh my word It is awesome. Was going to send two batches to work with hubby to give to hubby's coworkers. Oops. Took one taste and decided to keep this one. I HAVE to taste everything before it goes out the door. Ya know? And while I am typing this, got a call from hubby. His coworkers want to know if they can count on something for breakfast in the morning. Luckily second cake is in the oven and will have to make a third. There's 26 of them. At least once a week I send something for them to munch on during their 8 a. m. meeting. I love this recipe Will be looking for more to feed this hungry crew. Thanks for this video Thus recipe is definitely a keeper And it will make me a hero. ;) got to keep up my reputation

Chef John, I have made your coffee cake recipe three times within the last four months because it's my boyfriends new addiction. Yesterday he kept pestering me to bake him the cake again and I didn't want to bake and clean up the mess, so I didn't. He came home and pouted for thirty minutes and let me know that if he didn't have a cake waiting for him today after work, it would be grounds for divorce. I can't help but laugh as I stand in the kitchen making this cake again. Whether the laughter is from love or insanity has yet to be realized. The way to a mans heart truly is through his stomach.

My family has always loved my coffee cake. All 4 generations. This year I sprung Chef Johns version on them. They didn't know how to tell me they like this better. So I declared this to be my favorite coffee cake recipe. Giving Chef John the credit. From the other side of the table I hear the ole tappa-tappa. I practically yelled YES in laughter. At least 4 people in the room were familiar. Then the have you tried his______ recipe began. You're a hit in our family.

Our next door neighbor gave my mom and me a pecan sour cream coffee cake recipe back in the 70s that I just loved. Mom and I made it many a time for years, and then just stopped, for some reason. I went to make one about ten years ago, only to find she had lost the recipe. This one sounds so much like what I remember. I am so happy that I found this video--I can't wait to make it again.

Just tried this recipe, it's amazing Since I have Celiacs so I did a 1-1 sub with King Arther all purpose GF flour and they were perfect The only downside is the cake is so good that it's gone in one day. Thanks John, I've not had this much fun cooking since I learned by watching Frugal Gourmet many years ago.

It works, but wow are the quantities tricky to get right. I have no idea why the disposable aluminum pie pans are 8x8 inches, but real ones 9x9. So the recipe worked fine with the disposable pie pan, then I bought a real one and the recipe really doesn't provide for enough pecan mix.

chef John really like your stuff, but i was wondering why is it called coffee cake if it doesnt actually have none in the mixture so i was thinking why dont you invent one and you could use it as your signiture piece but a good thought out one one that would be for the ages.

I sure wish you'd proved the instructions with your recipes. We don't all have the luxury/patience to sit with the video, starting and stopping, to cook whatever the dish is. You're recipes always look great, but don't make it so hard on those of us who actually want to cook them.

Chef John you are amazing. Not only do you give us the most scrumptious recipes but you always manage to make us laugh. Who could ask for anything more. Thank you and please, never retire from making videos for us. That would be a very sad day. I'm sure all your viewers would agree.

Chef, my Mother passed away at age 45; but, one of my indelible memories is that she made the BEST Coffee Cake I have ever tasted. Unfortunately, I never got the recipe but I will try this one today to see how close it comes to hers. Thank you for sharing.
